At Speedzone we got to talking about Stock Viper 1/4 mile times.

It was mentioned that new ones ran in the 10's ... I find that hard to believe

here is list I found. http://www.fast-autos.net/14mile.html

A tuner Viper is only running 10.7

Here http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddriver/comparisontests/2002/september/supercars/0209_sc_challenge_opener_stockers.xml stock viper only ran 12.6

Anyone else see one go in 11's stock ? or 10's ?
Thanks
Doug

PS - If 12.6 is right, My truck at 4900 lbs still beats a Viper :D :burnout: :nana2

Look at the list at #4 and #7, those are both Vipers as well:D
12.6 stock was also with a "good" driver...I have seen guys at Ennis (have on video) who couldn't pull mid 13's on them:hammer:

What does the TWIN TURBO do stock?
That was production and non tuned.
According to my trusted Car and Driver Magazine, December 2002 to be exact...
Viper ACR/00 = 12.2@119.2
Viper RT/10 /00 =12.3@118.2
Viper SRT-10 /03 =12.4@117.2

page 154, again, those times are with drivers that CAN drive.
I have video of a blue Viper RT/10 at Ennis that couldn't pull better than mid 13's.

September "02" Road and Track shows:
Viper GTS-R 12.5@118.5
Viper GTS 12.5@117.2
Page 134.

I think it all depnds on what STOCK model you are refering too...the Twin Turbo was a stock model that would toast any of the forementioned....your gonna make me go find the magazine aren't ya...:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Hmph... Put exhaust/intake and upper pulley on a 03 Cobra and you'll be smokin' vipers left and right..

Didnt realise that DODGE made a twin turbo Viper..
My research has shown that ALL turbo Vipers are Tuner cars
Hennesy or Stryker or whoever ...

http://www.supercarstats.com/car/exotic-stats/dodge_svs_viper_stryker_tt.shtml

http://www.conceptcarz.com/folder/vehicle.asp?car_id=3645

http://www.motortrend.com/features/performance/112_0106_ttviper/

the Dodge web page for the viper specs is not accessible ....

Somewhere in the 10 year olds tornado struck room is a magazine that HE had to have...all because on the cover it showed a Viper and said, "Worlds Fastest Production Car"
Then in smaller print it said "twin Turbo, 0-60 in..." (sometning like 2.9).
He had to have it to keep me in check in case I started talking smack...LOL.
He gets home at 5 tonight from his dads, I will "appropriate" the magazine from him and see what it is.
It may be a Hennasy, but I know for sure the cover said, "Worlds Fastest PRODUCTION Car".
....More to come....

That was prior to Lingenfelter's TT 426 C5 that raced a Blue Angel. It was also a sub 3 sec 0-60:eek2:

The '03 with an driver who is good should run high-11s/121-122mph stock. I'm using this as an estimate based on the fact the '03 will have 50hp more than the '02 GTS and it will weigh ~200lbs less. Shoot, the things might run mid-11s even in the heat with a really good driver.

I've seen a number of stock '98+ GTS's run 12.0-12.1 @ 117-118 at Ennis.

If they're running high-12s, then the driver just needs some more seat time is all.

I believe the GTS's will run about a 12.2 depending on the driver and track conditions. Of course I have never driven a GTS on the track, but I have driven it on the street. It wheelhops really bad through 1st.:D

I calculate the '03 SRT-10 will run a mid 11. They have 50 more horses and 30 more ft. lbs. They are also lighter as stated above. The tires are different, the suspensin is different, it is a new breed. But for $82,000+ I would hope they run 10's, but I doubt it.

FYI, There has been a bone stock GTS record a 11.8* in the 1/4.:bows

Any car w/ 500 HP should run 11's IMO.. Unless it is a Cobra then it still needs a prayer:throw: :d I knew Ligenfelter was very low but I did not want to mis-state it..
