Irrespective of what some folks may think of BC, he was one of the few that made a HUGE impact on the aftermarket automotive marketplace. Some forget that the ZZ Top Eliminator car and the impact it had on the automotive industry. He was an icon and should be respected for what he did. :bows

I dont think Boyd did the Eliminator if I remember right it was Pete Champoris ( or however you spell his last name ) Pete is the one that owns So-Cal speed shop now.

Sad to hear. :icon_confused: His L offerings were the only other wheels I've considered putting on my L. It's just the "Frankenstein" wheels just fit the L so well, IMO.
Gunmetal finish / polished lip with this wheel. :bows

My dad is worried about his age he'll be 63 this year. No male on his side has lived past 58-60 in previous generations. They were occupational or smoking cancers though. His dad died at 58 from horrible stuff he got after years of working as a wing and fuel cell inspector for Boeing back in the 40-50's before OSHA. He has an older brother that is developing Parkinson's:icon_eek:. So my genes may not be so good.

My dad was very worried to make it to 63 too, no one made it before him, PA steel industry, but he is doing great at 67.
My uncle/mom's side is 75 and looks 55, so I am hopeful.

Yeah there is always Mom's side of the tree:bows. We think that is where my brother got his height. Her dad was 6'1" and kept all of his hair his whole life. That or the milk man,,,:tex

News says it was complications from Diabetes. I don't think most folk realize how damaging Diabetes can be to the body if it goes unchecked or uncontrolled. Not saying that his was but it's a serious disease.

I liked a lot of the stuff that Coddington put his name on, but he was also very fortunate to have extremely creative young guys work for him. I thought he always came off as kind of a jerk on the American Hot Rod show, but that's just my opinion. First thing I thought about is the Jackson-Barrett auction next year. Holders of original Coddington creations just hit the lotto.

it's fatal when uncontrolled or unchecked. it's an epidemic in developed countries.
