I live in southwest fort worth off s. hulen and sycamore school rd. My truck has a/m crank pulley and the a/m boost gauge that says it's doing 10psi. Unkown brand of headers and magnaflow muffler. I also think it has a/m gears because the speedometer is about 15 to 20mph high and the person that had it before me put an SCT emblem on the bed.

Is there a chip in the computer?

SCT is more than likely the programmer they used to tune it:tu:

Is that just so it will match the emblem, or will it mess up the computer to hack into it with something different. Because I took it off. I don't like broadcasting what I have, especially when I don't have it.

if its still programmed by SCT, there could be a conflict between it and Diablo. So better to just be safe and go with SCT, and besides our local tuner uses SCT and there isnt anyone that can tune Diablo in DFW

Nobody uses chips anymore, it is all flash tuning. There could be a flash in it that you are unaware of.

yes but there are requirements to sell so people dont just sign up to spam and sell stuff

"Items for sale or Items Wanted
This is intended for the TALON member (minimum 10 posts AND 30 days )to sell the occasional item.
NOT for a business to market products."

A lot of lightning guys have learned the hard way that mustang shops don't have what it takes to tune Lightnings. Because of the heavier vehicle weight and weak connecting rods tuning a Lightning can be very sensitive. Several guys have ended up with blown motors as the result of going to places like this. Even though they aren't local I would highly recommend one of the major lightning tuners like JDM, JL, JJ at WMS or PSP over local stores that will mess you truck up. If you want to keep local, I would only chose Terry, "L8Apex" because of his experience with Lightnings.

+1, this is some very good advice.

Personally, Terry has been the only person to do any major work or tuning on my truck. I have been willing to drive my truck from Erie to Dallas to make sure he does the work so that it gets done right.

Hey guys, I logged off before all of this mustang shop bashing. I have friend two friends with Lightnings that have used them. I had them do a very conservation tune account my truck is mildly modded and not going to be dragged that often. Truck did 372.01RWHP and 451.51RWTQ.

It made more power at first, but was too lean. He set it back -2. It lost a little power, but he said it would be much safer until I get ready to do some internal work.

Eric. You have some lucky friends.

Do not take your Lightning to a mustang tuner.

Manny is one of the best Mustang tuners around, but I would never let him touch my Lightning. Take it to Terry. Or get a mail order tune, or learn to do it your self!

We really don't want your next post to start out with "Well crap!"

IMHO. Terry is your best bet. He is local, and can spend a little time with you. On a mail order tune you will be data logging and e-mailing back and forth to get it dialed in.

Good luck
Charlie

Oh, and welcome to Talon!

I set my a/f to 11.9 yesterday. I didn't notice any loss of hp, and if it's that much safer for the motor, I'm in.

Do you have a wide band O2 in the truck?
Can you post your dyno sheet with A/F?

Dyno A/F readings are not real accurate, My wideband would read 11.6 and the dyno wideband would be 12.5+
