So yeah I just joined the L club...I got a sonic blue lightning...

I have always been a 4x4 Country truck driving fool, and decided to go a different route. I bought it about 2 weeks ago and have been enjoying it a ton...I have been reading it feels like non-stop about the lightning and also feel like I don't know crap yet lol.

My mods so far;

Mechanical: Boost bypass mod

Cosmetic: make the dome light a "cool white" or light blue color, and have put some floorboard dim blue lighting (which some people I know think looks gay, but with this sonic blue it looks awesome and its not overboard blinding light, just a dim blue)

Here are some pics:

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/7875/dsc00313on2.jpg

This look like the factory pulley? I can't really tell since I've never seen anything different...

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/1227/dsc00317nf9.jpg

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/218/dsc00318ur2.jpg

The only problem that I have so far is that the shift between like 1st and 2nd is very rough. I need to get it tuned or something...was looking at the Factory Tech Accumulator Valve Body... Any ideas?

So here are my next steps:

1) See Terry to have him tune it and look at it lol...if he will.

2) I am putting one or two LED's under the door handle for when I push the unlock button it lights up the door handle.

3) K&N Filter...

3) Maybe look at getting the upper pulley?

Sound good?

I hope I enjoy my stay here and get to one of these monthly meetings too...

Another bowhunter is good to have here...

You have a K&N on it now.. just stick with it.. the valve mod can increase the line pressure so not sure it would fix your shifting issue, but Terry is better at those issues than I could ever be.. However, a pulley, tune, etc is always warranted..

Nice looking truck.

Welcome,

Dana

btw, what bow do you have>?

Welcome aboard....nice looking truck. Not too fond of the lights mod, but everyone has their taste for things. That's what makes each one unique. Welcome Aboard. :tu:

Sounds nice.. I have a Hoyt myself but all of the upper end bows are good.. I have just signed up for a bear hunt in August in Canada.. if you need a few guys to hunt your place, esp for hogs, let me know and a few of the boys from up here in Pa will make our way down..

Yeah I have yet to go bear hunting...I can't wait to go though.

And if your serious about those hogs, whenever spring turkey season is over you should make your way down here. :)

Blake,

Welcome. Your upper pulley looks like mine - stock. Maybe you have a FTVB (Factory Tech Valve Body) in the trans. - that might explain the hard 1-2 shift. Do you know if your chipped/pullied? There is a lower-pulley, as well, that drives the blower of various sizes and manufacturers.

Good to see other hunters in TALON. Whitetail / rifle is my thing. I've bowhunted them before and it's definitely a challenge.

How's the whitetail / boar action out there?

I really don't know anything...seriously anything that is modified already. I dont know what to look for since I haven't ever seen one stock.

That truck had a 6# lower and SCT tuner on it last time I saw it. We ran some real aggressive race tunes on it for street racing in East TX in nice cold weather.

So...I think I found out what the truck has. Talked to someone who was trying to buy it from the previous owner before he traded it in to Don Davis.

What he did tell me was it had a k&n, 6lb pulley w/ dyno tune, sct programmer(i think), 20's, hard bed cover painted to match. As you can see you have all of those cosmetic mods but if you still have that 6lb pulley w/ tune, that's why your truck is shifting so hard. I dont believe he ever mentioned a FTVB:gatling:

Thanks again everyone for the welcomes.

I might get rid of the hard cover...I just don't like the way it looks...maybe trade someone for a black plastic cover or something

*Edit*

I went a little overboard with the blue today :D

Also, I know about the no blue lights on the outside of the vehicle, but these won't be on while I am driving.

Forgot I hadn't updated this thread with the pics of the LED under the door handles! (For you people that don't check SVTP)

The door handles light up on both sides and it reacts to the dome light. So I don't have them on while driving. They come on when I unlock the doors/use the keypad. If I really want to show them off I can flip on my dimmer switch to make them show, but I rarely will. And without further ado here is my door handles.

I am happy. :D It also lights up the ground a dim blue right next to the door.
