Ive been part of the site for a while now. I dont know much about cars so i just read most of the posts. Anyways i was heading to church today and my truck just lost some power! It has bumpy excell. The check engine light came on. I took it to auto zone They ran that troubleshooter machine not sure what it is called? The code came back P0308 it says:

The Pcm has determined that a misfire hass occurred in cylinder #8
explantaion:
The powertrain control module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected a misfire condition
Probable causes:
1 igintion system falult-spark plug(s) ignition wires, coil
2 Vacum leak
3 injector fault
4 high or low fuel pressure

That is what the paper says. It might as well be spanish to me i dont understand it! Someone told me a tune up... Just seeing if i could get some help from you guys b4 i throw wasted money!
Thanks DEREK

Idle is fine, No it runs smooth until the mph goes up. and no it just does not run 100% once i give it some gas its like something is holding it back from gaining speed

Sounds like a job for Terry....could a bad coil-pak make it run that bad, maybe if more than one was bad....

My F150 had the exact same symptoms and it turned out to be coil packs. Same thing with a couple of our service vans...E250.

Throw a coil pack on #8 which is the drivers rear. If it is tuned hot there is a chance you could have burned a plug up but it is likely a coil pack. I use the Borg Warner coils from Oreillys.

My L did the same thing when #1/#2 let go at the same time and #5 a while back. They swapped them out and all is good.

I'd check the plug in #8 while you have the coil pack off.
