I believe you said you purchased your guns from an online source. Did you have to pay any State or local taxes on the guns? I am thinking about going this route if it saves me some money on taxes.

No tax, but did have to pay shipping and a little to the local guy with the FFL. Not sure how it all shakes out in the end. But due to the high demand for the Kel Tec and The Judge due to their high level of quality and demand by LEO's as BUG's, it was my best and most effective option.

LOL...more like the demand by the wetback community.:icon_eek: My desire to save on the tax part is my motivation. The tax probably doesn't amount to much on that kel-tec.:evil

Shipping and FFL transfer fees usually beat the tax savings. Plus it pisses off your local dealer... Some won't send out copies of their licenses needed for transfers.

Hmmm. If they are making such low profits on selling guns, it seems like making 50 bucks for simply transferring a firearm would be looked at as a good profit. Hell, I think a guy could make good supplemental income just making himself real available for transfers only...LOL. Just get on the net and email every online dealer out there that you will gladly do transfers for 50 bucks a pop. Maybe I'll do it...

Ninja edit: I could do Glock transfers for 25 bucks and still make more than they do selling the gun. Maybe I'll do 600 and under for 25 bucks and 600 to 1200 for fifty.

Some do it to block out of state sales.
Most do not like it because it requires them to send a physical copy of their FFL license to a stranger. When you transfer a gun it must be shipped with a copy of the receiving FFL. As cranky as the BATF is you don't want legal copies of your FFL floating around the country. People can commit some serious crimes with that piece of paper:icon_eek:.
