So yeah I am putting in one subwoofer for now (maybe 2 later)...and I can't find a good enclosure that would fit behind the seats.

I know I could make one, but seriously with work 8-4 and school 5-10 every day...I really don't have the time. So I just want to buy one. Any ideas?

I have seen some online that look like they would fit, but I don't want to buy one and it not fit and have to send it back in.

I bought an infinity bass-link with a ten in it for 139.00 off e-bay and it sounds pretty good....fits behind the passenger seat has a built in amp.

Yeah I found this (http://subbox.net/store/catalog/Custom-Ford-F150-Lightning-Subwoofer-Enclosure-2000-2003-p-78.html)...and was about to pull the trigger on it.

I will give them a ring Chris.

Talk with Eric at Auto sounds, Ryan no longer works there. But I went with a MTX thunderform box that fits perfect behind the seats in our trucks.

Blake I am with you but I dont want to give up the storage space either.. I want it all and I want it now.. so give me a sub enclosure behind the passenger seat and a big area to store junk in the rest of the space.. I dont feel the need for two subs, one should be plenty.

Here is the box I got from Auto Sounds. It housed the One 10" Sub and room for the amp behind the center seat. Still had room on the pass. side for some stuff.

Does the top open to store stuff in side of the unit? I want some hidden storage, like you have with the stock piece of plastic..

No the top does not open up, but I'm sure if you wanted there to be they could do it.

So I think I found what I am going to buy...I found it at the local audio store.

It kind of looks like THIS (http://www.audioboxesonline.com/Ford-RegularCab-1997--2003-Behind-the-Seat-Sealed-Subwoofer-Enclosure-part-FRC97BS_p_8-100.html#), except the middle is deeper for the console. And its $149.99...not what I was looking to spend but if I am going to do it, might as well do it right.

Best thing would be to figure out what subs you're going with and try matching the box to them. You'll get the best sound and if you end up buying something that's definitely nowhere near close to matching the air space required, they'll actually sound like crap.

Save your money!!!!!!!! You'd be better off replacing the oem door speakers with a component set and you'd get better sound.

I just replaced my speakers with some pioneer premier's and it sounds good. I don't want toooo much bass. As I am mostly a country and rock listener, with the occasional rap. I am not trying to go overboard, as I am not a audiophile either.

The guy at the audiodepot said he has two sub's that would work nicely in that box for $50 each. I guess I might go with those...

I have 2 JL Audio 10w1v2 in sealed enclosures behind my seats powered by 250w rms (125w rms each) and it is more than enough for what I listen to (basically what you said, country and rock)

I've already got the amp and sub now...

I went with this sub (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9451_Diamond+Audio+D110D4.html) ...so now its just the enclosure for it, that I am looking for. It needs an amp rack too. Ugh didn't ever think it would be this difficult.

The diamond audio subs are nice. Get with Auto Sounds in Bedford and have them hook you up with a Box.

Space was very tight behind the gen 1 seat. I had this box built with JL 6W0's ported and a 400W Fosgate amp.

For the gen I ran a single JL10W3. I had the be the last person to buy a CD changer, lol!

Did you have a setup in the Gen 2? if so, do you have pics? I want something clean like that but dont want to lose storage that the plastic box gives me now. I would put the sub behind the passenger, and use the area behind the armrest for the amp..

how much airspace do those 8's have? sealed or vented? how much power? hows it sound?

L8 APEX

I like them, I did it by the book I think they required .666 ft or air space a piece I forget. I powered them with a spare bastard MTX 2 channel I am not sure of the rating maybe 250W. It is good for my country and rock. The four sixes were probably the neatest. They make a very tight and sharp bass. A buddy of mine came up with it on crew cab F250's which have no room for a box either. I guess it takes a little of all three to get a good result, good sub, good box, good amp. I think a sealed box is best for quick tight playing. Ports seem to be a little sloppy for rock and country.
The most bass I ever owned was an Orion XTR DVC 12" sub, powered by a Orion XTR black 250W amp in a 5th order band pass box. It was straight up ethnic bass:cool:. If you weren't use to it a ride could make you sick to your stomach.

True.. True... well its a clean setup but doesnt have the storage that I want to keep.. a keep a few things such as a first aid kit and such.. plus I have been putting my umbrella back there on top of the current box.. I just want to keep it nice and neat back there too.. oh well, on to other solutions.
