Beau,

Give Michael Ashley at 469-446-6270 a call. Sorry to hear about your GTO.:(

I just spoke with him at this # as I need a few items taken care of myself on the L. He's still in business and I mentioned your GTO. He said he'll take good care of you.

They kept a few stones in the freezer that looked like lemons with horns. I heard some were up to softball size. There was enough nickel size hail it covered the ground and looked like Christmas. I know they got whacked good north of 121 I am not sure how far south it went.
My hood is in good shape, the roof got some royal knots in it... I figured I would save the claim until spring ends, I sell it or it bothers me enough. It sucks how I pay for years and am so afraid to call the insurance company. It is like staining your credit history or something...

They don't hold a hail claim against you for insurance premiums. By the way...where was the hail storm? I need it for the claim.:evil

we had it just north of Little Elm. about 2:16 am Thursday night/Friday morning.

I just happened to check the weather forecast about 3 minutes before they said it would hit. Rolled my old beater 66 VW that I'm working on out into the driveway. Ran over to my little MazdaSpeed3. just as I was bout to get in I got hit in the head with a hail ball. i got the car in just before it started going nuts. The Lightning was already in the garage. I got off good, If the VW got any damage I didn't notice. It already had some bumps on the roof. The glass and interior was already out except the two front seats.

I think we are all just screwed if our vehicles get caught in hail. Short of being under protective cover, most solutions are gimmicks and darned near impossible to implement once hail has started falling. Not very smart for a person to be standing in hail, putting a tarp or cover over their car. I can get a car repaired a whole lot easier than getting a cracked skull fixed.

I used to throw open sleeping bags over the hoods back in the day. I have also thrown it in 4wd and pulled into a yard under a tree when driving into a storm:D . I loved the Corvette for hail storms, no dents ever!

I just bought some of those sleeping bag pads(egg foam) to stick under the cover. My old WS6 transam got hit with golfball hail and it to was fiberglass. No damage noted. The GTO has an aftermarket spoiler,i believe its some kind of composite. It has 1 nice welt in it.I got the settlement with State Farm and from past experience the check seems very little for the damage. The check is in consideration for the dentless removal system.I have never seen it work, does this really work.Ill be callin Ronalds friend in June.
