There has to be a tornado near by. I have never seen weather this bad for so long:tex. No power can't see nothing. Hail and roaring winds.

It got pretty nasty here in mid-cities as well. I'm a deep sleeper and it got my butt outta bed. Hope everyone's alright.

I live in Plano around 121 between Spring Creek and Windhaven. No Power

couple roofs off not mine! Trees snapped everywhere in my neighborhood

and on the way to work. I did not hear a tornado siren guess I am going

to have to quit drinking at night:icon_mrgreen:

WTF.... they hit the sirens EXACTLY when the worse part went over my place. Thanks for the 5 or 10 minute heads up for me to run for my ****ing life!?!?! By the time I found a damn flashlight and cell phone, the storm was gone!! Way to go city of euless siren button pusher. Who the hell is in charge of that anyway?? If a tornado would have dropped out... I would have heard the siren when I was up in the air spinning round and around.

Sirens in Frisco started going off around 4:00a.m. this morning. I was up already due to the thunder and lightning. The worst part was already on top of us as well when the sirens came on. They ran for about 5 minutes or so and then went off. Some one was jibber jabbering over the intercom on it after that, but I couldn't understand a word he was saying.

that's the way it is with tornados. they're watching for specific data on the radar and when they see it they push the buttons. sirens were going off from mansfield to plano and beyond all at about the same time. desoto was a little bumpy but nothing like what you northern boys saw.

I believe those sirens are connect to Doppler radar. Reading your post gave me this visual of a dude sitting there drinking a cup of coffee to stay awake, while looking out the window to determine if it looks bad enough to hit the button.

Dang, just saw this on the news, looks like a tornado actually touched down in desoto, pretty crazy morning of weather. The apartment building that they showed on tv was pretty crazy. Look like it just ripped all the bricks off the side of the apt building but left the building standing just fine. :bows

I didn't hear the sirens, I had fallen asleep on the sofa watching TV. I woke up when the TV shut off. It sounded like all hell breaking loose. My BBQ brush blew off the grille and landed out in the yard. I was able to fight my way through the storm to save it. Damn...that was a close call.

Wow! That is comforting. My truck alarm kept going off when it would thunder. Maybe that will wake me if their are tornadoes. I was talking with our controller today and he said the sirens went off in The Colony area also. They probably didn't want to wake us up needlessly in Plano...yeah that's it...they where being considerate.

I dont know what kinda of people watch the radar in this area... but where I'm from (small city of wichita falls, tx) they at least gave us 10 minutes!! Here I swear to you it already came and was leaving by the time the blew the damn horn, which by the way is pointed directly at my ****ing bedroom window at the distance of around 50 feet!! Tornado woulda already picked me up... next time either warn me earlier or let me sleep!!
