I saw one red Lightnig w/ an ATV in the bed around 11:00AM. I believe it might have been in the Ennis area. The other one was in Wylie. I beleve it was a white 99/00.
Overall the ride wasn't bad. The people at T&T were great! They took their time installing my new tonneau and did a great job. The tonneau is a great deal, especially if you live in the Dallas area as there's 100.00 discount off the price of the tonneau.

I just finished laying carpet on the bottom portion of the cover. Here are some pics.
BTW, Checkmate is under new ownership. The outfit moved from Oklahoma to the Dallas area. I believe the owner mention he opened the doors for business this past October.

Looks nice. I believe they were originally out of Kentucky though, not Oklahoma? Anyway their shop in Farmersville is right next to my friend's dad's shop.

Is that the high gloss black one, or did you have to shine it up??

It's actually the semi-gloss version. It's just really clean. I'm considering match painting the tonneau w/ smooth rails and adding a Cervinis wing.

Very nice, good to know that place is right up the road here from Frisco....might have to go that route some day. That is if I can talk my self into getting rid of the snug lid. That might be difficult for me though. :eek2:

It's pretty hard to beat a snug top. These tonneaus weigh in at 50Lbs. I removed it myself to install the carpet.

I'd definitely paint it something. It looks like an economy cover for sure. Needs a tool box now.:D
I am of two schools on bed covers.
Either do a roll up like a Retrax or go for the gold of a glass lid like Snuglid or I prefer the one with the wing on it.:bows

Ron, painted or not, I think it looks good either way.. I looked real hard at those before I went with a Snuglid several years ago.. they both have their advantages. But I could have been happy with one like yours. I do like the smooth look across the top.

it's 489.00 plus tax if you pick it up. The facility is located in Farmersville Tx.

Ron,
You didn't mention why you switched- strictly weight? Or ease of taking on and off yourself ?

I wanted some type of pop up cover. One that my wife could help me take off in a pinch. I also wanted to try something different. I'm not concerned with weight reduction at this point and I'm not sure where I'm going performance wise on this truck. I think if I go the built route I will sell this truck to do so. It's much cheaper that way.
Ron.
