Seems to me that depending on how the ordinance is written, they could take the city to court. I am fine with the city imposing rules on parking, etc - fine with having some say over clubs that charge entrance - but if they are telling you what you can and cant do in your own house, or rather, who you can and cant do in your own house, seems like that would cross a line.
