Hey Doug, is the PM link at the top right gone forever??? I tried different styles to see if it was there, but no linky?? I see the pm box on the homepage, but it was just convenient up there by unread messages link. Or is it just my computer??? :tex

yeah - I had about 80 templates to update manually and my eyes must have gotten crossed when I was doing the edits
Should be better now
Also got rid of the redundant links in the navbar

While we are at it you can add tags to threads that you think you might want to be able to find again
The tags allow you to add a search criteria to the thread that may not exist in the thread itself

All 4 are similar social network sites - I disabled the last 2 as to introduce the idea slowly
I typcially enable most of the offered options then see what is used and turn off the other stuff
As far as Im concerned we can turn off the socail networks, the thread ranking, the infractions, and lots of other stuff that isnt used
The new VB version also includes its own mini photo gallery - which since we have a gallery it could be turned off as well

ok splain to me exactly what you are doing to get the sig
I quick replied to the thread ( I never use quick reply ) and it didnt put in a sig
I then edited that and saved it and still no sig
dboat
05-16-2008, 12:29 PM
When I click on the quick reply button in the bottom left hand corner, it activates the quick reply box to post in. The show your signature box just below is automatically checked to show the sig. It didnt do it the very first time but every time since it has.. so try it again and see if you get the same results.

No -not your cookies just the temp internet files
which browser ?
In internet explorer just go to tools internet options - delete - then choose - delete files ( top button )
In Firefox its Tools - clear private data - uncheck everything except cache - then click the clear private data button then close the browser and reopen it

one of the nice things about a quick reply, it allows you to keep watching a video play that is embedded while you are typing up a response. That part is pretty cool.

Doug, is this how yours is setup in User CP?
Thread Display Options
Visible Post ElementsYou have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.
Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)
with all three options checked..

Well the reason I didnt was that at some point I must have deleted my sig
There is an IF statement in the page that say IF the user HAS a sig show the check box - Since I had none - I got no box
Since I think Sigs are over rated - I removed the entire line of code - so it should be gone now- That was a weird one ...
dboat
05-19-2008, 08:15 AM
Well, it still defaults to being checked.. maybe I should remove my signature or uncheck that box. ok just unchecked the box and it didnt go away.. here is a weird one. as I am typing in this quick reply, the check on the "show your signature" comes and goes as I hit the space bar between words..
