I own an 02 red lightning. I have put a 6lb pulley, denso iridium plugs and a sct xcal tune on it. I had it dynoed at 411rwhp and 514 lb ft of torque. I took it to the drag strip lastnight and i was very dissapointed at my times. The first pass of the night = rt=.530 60'= 2.094 330'= 5.902 1/8= 9.046 at 78mph, 1000= 11.794 1/4= 14.123 at 96.5.
On my second pass= rt= .355 60'= 2.185 330= 5.965 1/8= 9.100 1000= 11.846 1/4= 14.175 at 96.77. I did a total of 6 runs and they were all about the same times. I did manage to break into the 13s at which i had to stop because i did not have a helmet. The track temp was about 90 degrees and all these runs were done at Texas motorplex in Ennis. I dont understand what i did wrong, the truck should be running high 13s in stock trim. Please help me with whatever it is that i am overlooking is my problem. thanks guys.

intercooler pump might not be working

Based on your trap speeds you were not putting down 411 rwhp, traction or no traction.
Even with the heat you should be doing better than that. With a 6lbs lower you should be trapping around 103-105mph. I second the suggestion to check the intercooler pump. Maybe detonation? Maybe coil packs dropping out under heavy load?

i checked the pump and it is working fine. what else could it be. should i get a bigger intercooler to dissapate more heat.

I would find the source of the problem before I started upgrading parts, Do you still have the boost bypass hooked up? Might be dumping boost after you do your burn out..

What he said above.
What he said below.
"The temp was about 90 degrees and all these runs were done at Texas motorplex"
Nothing is likely wrong, but check your plugs.
6lb lower on a HEATON can eat plugs.
What octane gas were you running?
If it was street gas, you might have burned some plugs.

Mine will run 13.2 -13.4 all day 100 degree,with 4lb pulley,tune ,exhaust,CAI.Its either tune,tires,driver or a combination of all.Id be glad to make a pass and tell you my opinion:D. http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/24224 mine on street tires,hot day,warm tune.

Mine with just a 4lb, CAI, and catback and street tires, ran 13.1's consitantly in 100* weather with 70% humidity.
So something is off, be it tune, driver, or mechanical of some sort.....

Check and see how much boost you are making. The stock gauge isn't great but it should be well past the 10 mark even in the heat. A simple vacuum leak in the wrong place will keep the bypass slightly open on the supercharger and you won't develop full boost.
Put a vacuum gauge on. You should see at least 15-20" of Hg at an idle.
I once had a small leak in the diaphram of the boost actuator, truck ran fine but didn't have full power and wouldn't make full boost.

Well i do have a red L but i did not talk to anyone while i was at ennis, i was the only L there. I think about it more and more and i could feel like she wasnt putting out all she had. When i am on the street i can out run c6s, modded gtos, or whatever and pull away from them with no trouble but that night it was different. I am going to pull a couple plugs tomorrow and in response to Mark #2s question i always run 93 octane with booster. I appreciate everyones help alot. Hopefully we will figure out whats up. thanks again for your support.

Im confused
You are running in the 14's and you are beating C6s and modified GTOs on the street ? First Street racing is BAD. Second - Are you sure they are racing ?

I got an 05 stock GTO with a 6.0 LS2 that will wax your ass.I always thought my L. was quicker, but now that i cant afford gas in the L. as a daily driver i found the GTO to be pretty quick.Next time you go to Ennis let me know and you can have a crack @ her.Ill be looking for a red L. @ the stop lights:evilI have been running the cheap gas in it too and she gets about 18-20 MPG.
