Here's my question...
Will Favre with the Jets be any better than Emmitt Smith was with the Cardinals?
I say nope..

Frankly, they offered him $20M over 10 years to work in a "marketing" capacity with the club.. he should have taken the money.

IMO he ruined his legacy changing uniforms like this after playing all those years in Green Bay and having such a good career there, along with all the records that he set as a QB. He should have taken the marketing offer and sat his ass at home and been a father to the kids from here on out.

as the biggest Packer fan on this board i was tortured by this summer's fiasco. retired...not...retired...not...returned...gone. embarrassment for all involved. a near storybook ending turned to crap.

i disagree. i think he'll have another good year. he'll start off slow but i think his stats at the end will be Favre-like...say 25 tds and 15 ints. it all depends on his running game there.

on the short term i agree. it'll be forgotten in the end though. nobody thinks of unitas as anything but a colt, montana as anything but a 49'er, namath as anything but a jet. the same will hold true for Brett.
GO PACK!!

Gary, I agree with the last statement.. no one thinks of Emmitt as anything but a Cowboy even though he did his stint with the Cardinals.. good point.. but going to a completely different team and one that just doesnt have the horses that GB does, tells me differently on those stats.. but time will tell.. I wish him well.. he seems like a nice guy but after all of this "the shadow he throws is much smaller"

Good point. I hope the same stands true for Brett. He definitely deserves it. I think some of the die hard fans that he had though will be Butt-hurt for a long time to come. I hope he does well this year also with the Jets, but I just have my doubts about it until I see him actually play with the team.
