OK so I changing the fuel filter on my beater (99 Grand Am) and it should be a 10 minute tops just like the L.

Not a freaking chance:hammer:- The inlet side is a quick disconnect and the outlet side a flare nut- no issues on the outlet.

The inlet side has no collar to release the inner connection. Its a WIX brand (POS) fuel filter and the length of the tube on the inlet side it to short to get a quick disconnect tool in between the filter body and the fuel line.

I have both types of disconnects (plastic type and the anodized spring loaded ones) and each type is to long to fit between the filter and inlet line.

If anyone has any bright ideas I'm all ears. I ready to implode this piece:flaming:

Thanks Chris- that's exactly what I did. Glad I had a mini hacksaw to get in there. What a PITA

GM doesn't use a tool to remove it.. you just pinch the tabs from the outside (using 2 fingers ) comes right apart. Sometimes you have to push it together a little to get it to release. But I guess if you allready cut it off it doesnt matter anymore.

Yep this one had what appeared to be some type of collar (black plastic) or release mechanism that had been partially broken. It almost looks like someone tried to pry it off and then gave up.

Ive dealt with many of those in the past... Got pretty good at gettin them off.

If ya need any high pressure fuel line I got some you can have steve-0 if you need to splice the lines back together... Got a few feet left over from the fuel cell install... That fuel injection line aint cheap.
