Thinking of parting with my Honda EG3500 Genny. It is a rugged commercial grade generator with all the quailty and features you expect from Honda. It has several outlets for twist lock and standard plugs with both 120 and 240V capacity. Starts easily and has low oil protection on the motor. I only used it a few times at track events. It will easily run a race trailer with A/C and lights. Asking $650 obo.

At home you could make a cord and receptalce to feed your house in case of power outage. It would run your microwave, lights and a refrigerator anyway. It is not a quiet genny, about like a lawn mower.

IF you don't need Honda quality you can get a cheaper louder genny from Northern Tool. Some of thiers have Honda engines and start at 500 bucks. They may have a 5000-6500w with a larger gas tank that would serve a home better.

The City and surrounding area is fresh out. One of the local hardware stores has a shipment of 100 coming in at 6:00PM this evening. I'm on the list so I should get one.

It sucks! I have my generator fired up to power my refridgerators, shop fan, internet and coffee machine. I hear Galvaston is FUBAR'D! They say the power could be out for two weeks. :icon_sad:

Ron, I lived in the Woodlands when we had a hurricane come through.. I assume since you are in Spring that you have a lot of trees.. be careful of falling trees and limbs..

Overall the damage does not look too bad. That Chase building downtown got hosed though... I hope you have plenty of water etc.

Good to know you got some power with the Generator Ron. I saw the pictures SS posted up from his house. Knowing there are a lot of trees on your block, how's it look?

I got some calls but no buyers. I tried to locate a 5000w for a buddy in Spring but they are even out of stock up here in Dallas!

I spoke with Dad earlier and there was a HOU gentlemen in front of them at the Lowes in Ardmore, OK. having to buy parts for his chainsaw to go back and tackle the mess.
It's monsoon season here, even. :icon_cool:

My power has been out since 1pm Sat. Its still out today :flaming:. If it wasn't for my Honda 6000 generator I would be up chit creek.
