Dove Huntin

Anyone been dove huntin this year?I limited out fri in about 2 hours . :icon_mrgreen:Been an excellent year so far from what ive seen and heard.Been a bunch of houses built in some of my old stomping areas north of Frisco.Been some home owners complaining also:d That 150 foot rule is pretty close.I usually stay 3 or 4 times that.Theres always some jackasses out there though.

We go down the hill from the house birds are plenty and the wind had them moving quick the other night.

We are probably going in the AM before work just to see what the morning hunt is like. Lots of birds though

I used to hunt a lot along 380 but the housing etc keeps me a little closer to the Casa

Location is in a field with sunflowers.:icon_mrgreen::d I usually hunt anything that looks good,been run off a few places.

I only hunt fields that arent posted.Half the birds i shot couldnt find em.Very tall cover with lots a ticks,chiggers.I made some pretty good shots with the remington Heavy Dove 6 shot.Awsome loads.No need to worry about pellots come eatin time they go right through.

Got 2 opening morning... didn't see but maybe 10. Others I was with shot between 1-8 about 15 people. Everyone limited out that evening. Same spot too. Kinda odd, but it was a hellofa hunt!!

Funny you said it, the news covered it tonight. They said several residents reported hearing gunshots in Collin County towns like Frisco and McKinney. The locals are going to ask the judge to change the law. Lol.

Yeah there are alot of people on the frisco forums bitching about it. It sounds like a war zone, and I live right in the middle of frisco. The gunshots really don't bother me though. :D

I was btwn frisco and the colony:DMost of bird kills where credited to the Mojo Dove.Next time ill use the 10 ga. and some 3 1/2 loads.:d

20 so far for the season. Opening day was lousy, but got 8 last Sunday evening coming in to my tank. This rainy weather has likely scattered them. I'll find out this evening.

got 8 on opening day...got 14 last saturday...been hunting in a corn field around windom, tx....i have yet to try the sunflower fields...the season has been great so far!
