Well it looks like people are buying up all the fuel around here. the Racetrac turned the lights and pumps off, Exxon sold out of regular and mid grade by 7pm. I went to top the diesel off at Shell on Indepenence and 15th. They limited cutomers to 50 bucks and ONE transaction. That added up to 12 gallons of diesel. Thankfully I carry TWO credit cards and was able to make two transactions for half a tank of fuel....
A guy at work said his daughter was staying in Bryan CS because the town was out of gas and she couldn't make it up here. Of course she is staying with a friend down there.. Frm my blackberry...

Conoco Phillips said it would take a week to restart the refinery if there was NO damage. If they have damage it may take a lot longer and prices will sky rocket.

I filled up all of my cars yesterday in the hopes that in 1 week all will be better. Gas will shoot up! yesterday I could still buy super unleaded for 3.73 at Exxon!
No gas is scary stuff!

I drove down thru N Dallas in the pricey neighborhoods and backup to N Carrollton and saw NO high prices nor noticed any closed stations
I just got back from the grocery store - other than a shortage of carts due to the rain there were no supply issues

lexus is full and good for 420+ miles - should last thru the short term issues

I saw people at Lowes today buying fuel containers, then later at the gas station filling them up. They had about 10 to 12 5gallon containers.

Two of the local stations in SW Arlington had one grade or another out of supply.

Totally disgusting how our fellow man/Texans are gas gouging the public.I think a little vigalanty justice is needed. There are laws to protect us but most offenders arent reported. There ought to be a web site to list the gas gougers.

I don't see any price gouging, just stations running out of gas.

Don't feel bad, gas went up here in Orlando too and we got a 20 minute rain storm out of Ike. CNN said last PM that gas was up to nearly $5 for 87 octane in the Carolinas. How can gas go up when its just sitting in a tank?

Here it has only been 30-40 cents I think.. It was 3.40 most places and it is 3.65 at Wal Mart and QT. We'll see how the week plays out and if the refineries spool back up or claim damages... Opec also cut production by half a million barrels a day since demand went down this last quarter....
It sucks, if we save gas and use less they make less to maintain high prices.

I've got both trucks full of fuel and won't be driving much at all this week so I'm hoping that it'll be at least 2 weeks before I have to buy gas again.
