She let go today on the way home from work... less than 500 miles since the converter install. 134,xxx miles in stock form and less than 500 with that converter. Ain't that a bitch!! OH well time for a something a little more fun :tu: .

At least they are fairly cheap and plentiful. Of course a build up costs and isn't much stronger.

Yeah def not going back with the 4L... I have a th350 in the garage that I bought for it, I just wasn't wanting to have to build it this early. I had problems in the old car and this one seems to be headed in that same path. I think I went through 4 "built" trannies in the other one at a few grand apiece... theyre just junk. Since its not a DD nor a car that I'd take on long trips, I don't mind losing OD; especially since I will be picking up full manual + transbrake!!

I had 5 in my Tahoe, sun shells, input shafts, planetaries. It just kept breaking. When I bought the L I was happy it had a real tranny. Even though I went through a handful of those as well. Autos are a pain. Give me a good Tremec and clutch disc.

I wouldn't mine rowing my own... however I've always wanted a transbrake! When that gets old I do want to do a T56. That's much further down the line tho... they are pretty expensive.
