Thanks 4 da' spring replacement on "QuickSilver da' Toy Truck"....got 2 get used 2 da' higher look and look out the windshield. Been a few days now and it seems 2 b settling down. But hey, it don't have that feel of bottoming out on the dips in da' road now. Now 4 an alignment & some nu' shoes!!!
**Remember the conversation we had when I was leaving about what's happening in this country with minorities & how other "minority" countries are viewing the US now?; well in the FW Star-Telegram there was some articles about that this past Saturday & Sunday.
** Now one of the other conversations we had....where are the Lfest 1&2 owners that still own there L's , where ya' at?....I know Steve-O,Mark,Sixer,Terry Hogg & Michael BC Lightning still got their's..who else?

Glad the truck is doing better- there's still a few more out there that still have a L: Jacob, Jason, Garett, Tyson, Gary (G Lightning), Steve (L Fever) from the old days.

I think the Glenn clan (Dennis, Trevor,Fred, Milton) still accounts for half the total trucks in the club these days.

Good, Sorry Ronald I forgot about yours, Rocks, & JC Black in the names I listed.Steve-O named a few more. What brought the conversation on between Steve-O,Terry & me was I told them I wasn't going to get rid of my truck after Terry mentioned that I still had it(I'm not selling out) and I told them I had been off the board for a few months due to shoulder surgery and when I came back I saw a Corvette/Porsche page so I was asking who still had there's from Lfest 1&2 and not gone to the other side.
On the suspension, I changed my springs out(finally, a topic that started last year)and it raised my front up slightly(1/2" by Terry's measurement)but it should settle down with several hundred miles. He looked at my EBC pads and said they're 2/3 worn so I'll get some shortly. All I'm doing is maintenance & upkeep, my truck has been lowered w/ EBC rotors & brakes since before Lfest 1 when Terry did the brakes & Racing Superstore did the springs.

honestly most on here have been there and done that, there are so many times you can talk about pulley swaps, or valve body swaps, plus we don't get the traffic on here like SVTP or NLOC

This is OUR board, we talk about stuff WE enjoy. It started with Lightnings and grew into some great friendships and good times.:tu: We've all got some Lightning in us:cool:.

It's just that I would like to see more drag strip event meetings and club events. Bring out the Vettes and Porsche's and lets see what they got guys. Its got nothing to do with pulley swaps and VB work, thats what the search button is for. The last time a drag event was listed on this board is when I won the SW tickets from Beau @ Ennis. Terry and a few showed, but there was only one other L from the club (Beau's). I love this site, I read threads every day that crack me up, and somtimes make my day :tu: Thats why I still support the site.

The rotor Part #s aren't exactly as the one's I have for my '02 L, but my current EBC rotors developed some front hair-line cracks as did BCLightning's. The urls above should help.

Here are my experiences with them: http://www.talonclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13985&highlight=EBC

I'm still here Derrick. I have never considered selling and never will Lord willing. It's my baby and I still get some good complements on it even though its almost 8 years old. We need to get everyone together soon like back in the day.

*** Glad all the old time L owners that still have their's are still faithful. I had Terry do my front springs and we(Terry,Steve-O & me) got to talking about how many orignal L's are left from Lfest 1&2 time period after I ask them about it. I noticed the board getting thinner & thinner with orignal L owners from that period. I don't think I ever meet TXLIGHTNING but he's right when he said not much talk about L's anymore. It's been that way for a while. I know it's a controversial topic and have been for a while now and I know I hold a grudge from when I got :nono:& :throw:when I even mentioned I had a Mustang on here several years ago. But now that a lot of L's are gone bye-bye, the one time :throw:'ers are non-L owners and it's OK now to talk about non-L cars & trucks. I wonder if the "GOOD OLD L ONLY DAYS" would come back if Ford did a Gen III?

Derrick,

Still got mine, though it only gets pulled out every once in a while. Don't even remember that last time I went to the drag strip for a little action. I might need to polish that baby up and take her out for a little fun soon...It's been a while since she's had the opportunity to stretch her legs...:D.

I'm not an old timer on here...but I can remember being obsessed with them all the way back when I was a freshman in high school when the Gen 1 came out. I was in love with the truck at first site.

I am originally from Glen Rose, down south of fort worth near Granbury. If anyone knows where that is, you know that there is a Nuclear Power Plant there(maybe that's whats wrong with me). So every few months these guys that worked the outages at the plant would come to town and they had the Gen 1 Lightnings. I even stopped by the motel to talk to them a few times when I would see them in the parking lot of the hotel where they would stay at while they were in town. At that time I was just getting my license to drive and had a little dodge dakota sport that my parents had bought me for my first vehicle. I wasn't much for Dodges but at that age you take what's given to you, and don't be picky about it.

So after going off to the military after high school I was in Germany when the first Gen 2 lightning came out. I followed the production of them but with the pay in the military at the time I knew I would never afford one. So, I just drooled over them when I could. I stayed obsessed with them and even had browsed the NLOC boards as far back as 2003 but never bought a truck because I was still in the service. Once I got out though and came home, that was the first thing that I was in pursuit of, A Lightning . I shopped for about a year before finding the right one that I wanted and went for it once I found it.

I definitely got a late start on enjoying the truck, but I don't think it will ever leave my ownership for as long as it stays together. I have been super busy with work this year due to rolling out our 3G Network at work, but I will get back to the modding as soon as I have the time. Terry has definitely been a big help with everything I have done to it to date. :tu:

I agree also that there is not alot of L talk on here anymore, BUT, there is plenty of it in old threads to gain knowledge from. I come here daily regardless, to at least get a good laugh from something that has been posted. It keeps me busy at work when I feel like ****ing off. :evil

Dang that ended up long...anyways, many of you have had the trucks for many years, and my obsession with them has been there just as long. :D I really need to get it out of the garage some time soon too, especially before the weather gets too bad.
