Despite what the news says about huge crowds, I just went and voted early and there was NO WAITING. No line, zip, nada. I was in and out in under 10 minutes.
Get out and vote!!

Already took care of this on Tuesday. Up here in Allen, I did stand in line for about 10 mins. It was impressive to see that many people in the middle of the day out and voting.

I was watching Fox News and they said a Poll of registered voters showed it almost dead even
I'm sure a lot of the NObama Koran-beaters who take the polls aren't registered voters, and like McCain said earlier, the people who are voting for me are doing more important things than taking a poll, I personally think it will be a lot closer race than what the Liberal media is predicting

Let's hope you're right, Michael.
And NObama doesn't have Bible-beaters... that would be Koran beaters, or Communist Manifesto beaters.

Exactly. This is the same type of issue where the Dems blame the Repubs for the financial crisis. Then they forget the Fannie/Freddy fiasco, which has been led and run by Dems for a long time now.
The fact is that, at the time, BOTH parties overwhelmingly supported the Iraq war, and at the time, BOTH parties were supporting the gift of "free money" to businesses and individuals.
But whichever party is in office, gets the blame. Happened to Bush Sr., too. And it happens _fast_. Of course, no one seems to want to point a finger at the Dem-controlled Congress, which has been in place for the last 2 years.
It's the "flavor of the day", and right now that seems to be someone who may not even be a US citizen.

TIFTON... hope you're right, but I'm afraid Beau would take your $$.
McCain is coming back, but it may be too late. The joke here is that 6-8 months ago, McCain would have crushed Obama. We are such a fickle people, and no longer have the intestinal fortitude to see the "tough times" through. It's a knee-jerk society now. :(

The polls show that Obama is ahead by a large margin but they fail to take into account that the polling took place during the day time hours when most republicans are at WORK!

I hope Barrack wins it will solidify my decision to sell it all and move to the islands.......
I really just don't think that over taxing business and giving a perceived tax cut to those lower income folks or the middle class will work. It has never has worked and by all means if I am incorrect please correct me
How about we all pay an equitable share of our income whatever it may be
I could go on and on and I am not really a McCain supporter however I think Ma Palin is pretty hot:D

It's already started... the new "stimulus package"? Instead of focusing on tax rebates, it looks like it will focus on boosted unemployment checks and things like food stamps. They're already "spreading the wealth around."
As far as over-taxing the wealthy (most Dems define "wealthy" as over $65k/year) to help others... it doesn't work. Period.
I remember healthy debates in my Econ classes back in the late-80s when Reagan was getting slammed by the socialists. I refused to believe them then, and I still don't. Trickle-down is much better than tax and spend any day. Once you remove the will to work and earn (by overtaxation) from those who have the means... everyone suffers, whether they have a good job or not.

Beau, please do some reading on this subject. you will see that the blame lies with both parties but a lot of it started with the Dems... remember, it is Congress that initiates spending bills.. the President can only sign them..

Dana I read it the Washington Post that George Bush is solely to blame for any problem you may be having. It must be true
Seriously Beau both sides of the isle to blame on this one.

Voted Monday, and had to wait in line behind one person. Took me about 7 minutes in and out. As others have said, I hope the silent majority gets out and votes. Otherwise, .....:hammer:
What's the saying? The disadvantaged traditionally elect democrats, and yet they continue to be disadvantaged. Hmmm.

Exactly. If things get really bad and I wanted to do some things completely unethical, I'm going to mortgage every rent house I have, buy a huge house with a 10-car garage, fill the garage with a bunch of cars I can't afford except on credit... and then find a good attorney who can then help me when I file for bankruptcy, but won't let anyone take my home/possessions. The govt can then seize all the rent houses owned by my bankrupt business.
My business will go under, I will have to start collecting unemployment... but that's ok. After all that, I'll be due for a handout.

My suspicion is that the Dems tend to redistribute the wealth from the middle class to the lower class, while leaving their own super wealthy group untouched through loopholes. Higher business taxes means fewer jobs and more layoffs, fewer jobs and more layoffs means less consumer spending, less consumer spending means fewer jobs and more layoffs.
This is going to get ugly.....

Kind of a long read for those who attended public school like me and no pictures.... ( sent to me by Lfever who is the desert riding this weekend)
My story has some of the same challenges and success's and I feel very much the same way as this gentleman who wrote the story.
We work and play hard and nothing is guaranteed......unless you can just get your hands on a little of that "bailout" money

Mike, true.. the real outcome on that plan is that Obama is going to give you your $1000 but in the process you will lose your job. He is going to raise taxes on all energy sources so that your tax refund you didnt earn will go to pay heating, cooling and gas and you become unemployed because of the higher taxes on your employer..
LOL..

Purely coincidental. An anomaly for sure and can not be used. It is anecdotal evidence at best
other words scientist dismiss it as chance:D
