I sure love the ZR1.... overpriced racecar thats street legal w/ a factory warranty!! If I had lots of cash to blow I'd buy one, otherwise I'd build a turbo C6 for less.

ok, I will go against the consensus and take the GTR... its easier to drive fast.. its 30k cheaper.. and if you put that 30k into mods, my guess is that it would stomp the ZR1..I am a huge Vette fan having owned two of them.. but I just think the GTR is the better overall value and unless you have the skills, most folks can drive the GTR faster than the Vette. Even the video says it was docile and easy to drive, the Vette was a handful.

one reason they switched from a 7.0L 427 block to a 6.2L 38X or 39X block, they were blowing motors left and right with the 427

The 427 is a thin engine it is still a small block after all. Folks are turbo'ing them though.. They have Titanium rods anyway.

I will get the opportunity in 2 months, My dad just picked up his GTR last week and his GT500 is being converted to the 725 hp Super Snake in the next couple of months. The GTR is one of the most impressive cars I have ever driven, definitely a bang for the buck car.

Is the GTR really $30k cheaper in the market? I didn't think so, but I could be wrong.

Honestly, 11.5 @ 128 for the ZR1 is not much quicker/faster than the Z06.

Both cars are just a chip (GTR) and pulley (ZR1) from being even significantly faster than they are. The ZR1 has a signficant head-start, based upon the 128 vs. 118 trap speeds. I guess the GTR is heavier, b/c it doesn't give up that much power to show that kind of trap-speed discrepancy.

And yes, the ZR1 engine can take more boost... easily. Completely forged bottom-end from the factory with really good quality internals. The CTS-V is not that way.

anyway, I believe the GTR is more like an L in that it is set up to dig in from a standstill and walk you.. the Z06 is set up for what the video shows with roll ons and such..
