I'm dropping the Internet on the 15th, for a couple of years. 2.6 to be exact.

I need to get a few things payed off. And start saving for the retirement land, and house I want to build. :tu:

Weird....I just don't see how $20-30 a month makes that much of a difference in the overall scheme of things.

Best of luck to you

You're kidding right? You can do dial up for 10 bucks a month.

True. There are so many unsecured wireless internet connections out there...

So dump cable but keep the net, you can download shows anyway. :)

I guarantee someone on your street has an unsecure wireless connection you can steal from.

I can't afford them either. I bum wireless when it works or use the work Blackbewwy. I have tin foil on my rabbit ears for TV. I mainly write poetry for fun.

you can tether to the BB if they allow it - BUT most carriers require tethered data plan

I am dumping every thing I do not need. I don't have a land line either, just a cell phone. Hell I even quit smoking.

I don't have any way to tap into it.

Just go to Walmart and get a Wireless USB Network Adaptor.

I "stole" from my neighbor for a few years with his permission.
Maybe you can find a similar arrangement.

I used to have 8 unsecured connections that I could use from my house. They are all secure now. I think that unsecured wireless connections are much less prevalent now in local neighborhoods.

You can always get the USB network adapter and then give a neighbor $10 a month to let you on their network. They give you the PW and cut you off if you don't pay. Win win...

Rather than stealing from you neighbor you could do as some have suggested and make a deal with one. If not, you can go to a nearby free public wifi hotspot. However, if you use an open wifi connection, I would use some type of vpn. I have used this (http://www.hotspotshield.com/) when traveling and on open hotel wifis. It does show a small ad up top, but the vpn service is free.
