Anyone know where i can find a good deal on tires? Mine are getting a little thin. They are the original F1s.

really depends on what you want most like the hankooks for tread life and value or nitto 555r for traction and no value

You can get a wide range of opinions on tires, so I will give you mine.. I was forced into getting the Nitto's when there no F1's to be had in the entire country (true story).. After running the Nitto's, I would never go back.. they are so much better and they work much better in the rain as well.. I do run the DR's in back and you get about 8k miles on them but they do hook up better than anything else out there.. if you dont want to be buying rear tires that often then just get the regular Nitto's all the way around.. If you want a lot of mileage but no traction, go for the Toyo's but dont come crying when all you do is spin your tires all the time because they are hard as rocks.. if you want cheap, then get the Hankooks..

Good luck on whatever you decide to get..

After the factory F1s, I went with the Toyos. Much harder compound, more mileage and yes, not much traction. They do get somewhat squirelly in the rain, as well.

I may purchase Nitto this go-round to see how they work out.

Discount Tire is the way to go, btw.

My experience
Nittos sidewalls are much softer than the F1s and the Nittos are a little smaller in diameter.
I like the F1s better for handling and looks

I am going to try the 555r 2's the sidewall stability is supposed to be stiffer than the 555r

After getting a quote from that link make sure you call around to several diff. discount tires. I have found that some will write the shipping off as tax & you pay the quote - shipping, TAX + mounting & balance. A few min will save you a few bucks.

Just put two Nitto 555-Extremes on front last week. Went to my local Discount Tire Co with printout for $210/ea from Discount Tire Direct and they honored the price!

If you can find them cheaper, they will usually honor that price!

The F1 is a good tire, I don't like the feathering edges it is keyed more toward rain or all season than dry. I think the walls are softer. I could run the Nittos 4lbs lower psi on the track without rolling over like the F1's did. The nitto has larger outside tread blocks. They hold their shape better than the F1. The Toyo wears like iron, a little loud for me. I was very happy with my Hankooks as well. They do have a softer sidewall and lower weight rating but they were the cheapest by a significant amount.

Have run both the F-1's and now the Nitto 555's - will never go back. Handling, traction and ride are much improved over the Goodyears.

I like the smooth sidewall for tire dressing etc. The F1's an other textured sidewalls sling pooh all over your paint. The Nitto's lasted me twice as long as the F1's.
