Need some SLR Camera input

I am looking at getting the new Nikon D90 SLR that came out. I was wondering if anyone on here has it or has had any experience with it yet. The reviews on it are excellent and the price is reasonable for the new features and functions that it performs for an SLR camera.

I am pretty set on this one versus others that I have looked at so far. I am moving away from Sony Cameras now and trying to go in a different direction. I've been shopping around for a month or two now to find the right camera that fits me for what I want. This one seems to be the one.

What would be a good starter lens to go with this camera, and do you think any of the package deals that some of the companies sell are a way to go or should I get the body only and then get the lenses that I want separately. I really would appreciate any and all input on lenses. Still kinda amateur when it comes to that department. :icon_mrgreen:

If you have opinions or experiences on the usability of the camera, please feel free to post up. I'll probably be buying one of these prior to the Christmas holiday, so I have a little more time to look into it and get some feedback.

I have the D80 and have considered getting the D90 due to a few of its improvements

The 18-135 lens the d80 came with is a VERY nice flexible lens - not sure if you can get the d90 with it - but is a good starter lens

I would get a flash first - the built in flash works BUT an external flash makes it possible to take flash pictures that dont look like flash pictures by adjusting the exposure or bouncing the flash off the ceiling

Look at BHphotovideo.com - they have good prices - great selection and good service - been around for ever
