Yep lost today to my buddies GTO going down 161.
I was a little late on the start, I lit the tires up like a son of a bitch
I had to drive away in shame.
BUT...I think I can still beat him if I take off better next time.:icon_confused:

I have raced both a 5.7 and 6.0 GTO. If your stock you should be able to pull away from the 5.7 at any speed below 60mph or so. I was neck and neck with a 6.0 to about 90mph and im stock for the most part. You'll get em next time!knana

The 6.0's are pretty dang quick with a good driver.

i know, i know. it was one of my best buds and he just kept talking smack about how his god's gift to the world six speed would destroy me from a higher speed blah, blah, and wouldnt stop about it until i raced him. so i had to do it once. but then again, it only takes once to throw a rod.

I pulled a new black z06 from a stop light in the 04 L. It was neck and neck then he missed 2nd gear and I pulled him ugly. I let out and smiled before he ate me up:evil

I raced a few in my time and wasn't as lucky.... all the ones I raced had the driver mod and handed it to me. It was close to about 50-60? then the z06 took off!! From a roll it wasn't even funny. However I picked on a few LS1/2s in my time, including a buddy of mine. I have the vid somewhere when we went to the track!! I told him a had a trailer hitch and chain so he could stay close to me!!

Well I need pulleys and a tuner, where should I get them from???

Over the past few months I have bought every thing used, either off craigslist or on Talons for sale forum.

xcal2 $100
billet grille $60
4# crank $110
2.8 upper $60
Ported eaton and BA 2400 for $300 that I later sold for a lot more.
The stuff is out there, you just have to be the first to pounce on it:tu:.

Yep if you want the truck running good and especially safe after throwing a pulley on it, definitely get with Terry. He can hook you up. :tu:

Just don't be a no show on him if you set up an appointment......you'll ruin it for the rest of us. :hammer:

Power packages are ok I guess, if you are in need or wanting all of those things all at one time. Not sure about the oil sep from LFP, don't know too many that run it so can't speak for it. If you're only wanting to do a couple things at a time, then just get what you need. But either way you go, LFP is definitely a good place to get it from. Can't go wrong with their shipping and customer service. They have been excellent to me with everything I have ordered.

Scott, IMO, I don't think you need all that. Get a K&N cone, AirRaid or the like. I think they are all aboout the same. The point is they allow better breathing. Add a 4-6 lb pulley and get her chipped. Throw a valve body in the tranny and you'll see a big difference.

A 6# and a GOOD tune and you truly can't go wrong. If you wanna run really safe though and not have too much to worry about then a 4# would probably suit you better. No, chip, just get the sct xcal2 or 3, or a predator. I prefer the xcal just cause that's what I have, but many use the predator with success as well.

Google RPM Outlet Reviews, or search RPM Outlet on this site, NLOC, and LightningRodder. You will find horrible stories about them. Take the advice from past posts and stay away.

Here's a little of what you will find with Google about them.

Here is my experience with RPM Outlet Inc., Tx. 77477 U.S.A.

118 days later ... I finally go my money back
with the help of the Better Business Bureau.

Used them twice before I knew better and my experience was horrible. I called and emailed and never got a response. THEY SUCK BALLS!!!

too many bad experiences with RPM and numerous guys all over the net.....
No thanks
Hit up Mark at LFP, JJ or Amazon

If you do decide to go with them though, I suggest you take John's (Ohmsby) advice before you press the confirm button when purchasing, your results will end up about the same if not better. :throw:

No problem, anytime. Are you part of any of the other forums. I know houston has a local one, and then there is nloc and lightningrodder.com as well, both really good national sites. Welcome to talon too, I see you have been around a while, just not posted too much yet. :tu:

Cool, well look around here if your gonna start modding and stuff. You will find tons of information.

The houston local forum is www.haloclub.com (http://www.haloclub.com) not much really going on over there anymore though. The national forums are www.nloc.net (http://www.nloc.net) and www.lightningrodder.com (http://www.lightningrodder.com)

You will find all kinds of great information on those sites as well as here. And tons of other lightning owners across the country on those sites to offer help and stuff too. Sign up and enjoy the fun. Just hide your bank cards though. They seem to tempt you to spend lots of money for some reason.....:hammer:

Eddie, you MIGHT be ok with RPM, if you go there to the store (they are located in the Houston area) AND they have the parts in stock AND you are pretty darned sure that you will NEVER EVER need to return or exchange them AND they are in fail safe gonna work mode.. then pay with a credit card just to be sure... otherwise stay away.. good luck!
