So i might have , in a moment of weakness, shed a tear today when i found out i had thrown pushrods out both sides of the engine block :hammer: Don't build em' til' you blow em' ! So now comes the question of who i should get a block from ? Any recommendations would be helpful and i am also taking donations to the " Help me fix my daily driver " fund :D

Sorry to hear about your motor.

I'd give JLP a call, I got my Stage 3 JLP Long Block for 7,5k shipped already assembled ready to be dropped in :tu:

Sorry to be a downer, but I seriously doubt that your block is salvageable. If you blew rods out the pan, without a doubt, there is some serious carnage inside. You'll see what I mean when you get it apart. At the very least, I'd plan on a shortblock.

What is the goal of the truck? I think you have some options based on your intentions for the truck.

PS don't call RPM they will do bad things to you and then you will bitch and then we will make fun of you etc etc

bluebullet80

neither... i wasn't p**** footing it around but i wasn't hot rodding it either... just on this really wide backroad where we attempt to diagnose issues with our vehicles

That knocking noise is called detonation, sorry about you learning the hard way.

yeah... and no it wasn't detonation... i've dealt with that already... that sounds like a pinging this was more like clack clack.. like piston slap ...... from what i'm hearing it's a rod bearing coming lose ?? ? ?

Rod bearings can't come loose, rod bolts maybe due to detonation...

Sounds like you spun a rod bearing and kept messing with it and rod finally gave up :(

A rod bearing can not come loose, you can burn one up and spin it but that is because it was too tight.

Interesting, then why did i find my rod bearing inside my oil pan when i pulled the motor? Rod was still together lol

JDM, Johnny Lightning, Woodbine Motorsports will be your best bet for drop in motors, everyone has good and bad opinions on them.

I went with Dante's Modular Performance to build my 358ci mod motor with the new trick flow heads and custom grind camshafts to handle the high boost levels of the 3.4 Whipple

It all depends on what your goals are with the truck

Because it got hot, seized, and spun it out of the rod?
It didn't get loose.
