I am curious what you guys think about the above said setup. Alot of people on national boards love it.

Opinions on install , fitment, sound, known issues. Whatever. Just let me have it. I am in the market for a header and full exhaust set up and this one looks tempting. Give me what you got, opinion wise. :eek2:

If you have other preferable setups post that up too. I am about to have a Whipple 2.3 on soon, and I don't want the truck sounding like a sissy anymore. :tex

Another option is the Cannon Full Exhaust System. Opinions on this as well if you have any.

Terry used to sell a LOUD system.. Ronald has it on his truck.. I went for mild.. but its a Magnaflow system with some tweaks.. also, make sure you need headers as they have been known to lose HP unless you are really pushing some boost..

I had a Bassani catback on my G2. The install was a snap, bolt-out, bolt-in. The sound was OK. Wasn't loud enough for me so I swapped it out for a custom set-up with Flowmaster race mufflers.

I have the JLP Comp R system, and it is worth every penny!!! It is the best sounding exhaust out there, Magnaflow sounds like crap!!!

Plus the fact thats its a true 3" exhaust, X pipe built into the muffler, all of the bends are done on a mandrel machine so there are zero wrinkles in the pipe. The headers are bigger than the kooks and easier to install, the only hard part was when I didn't read the directions and installed the headers in the wrong order (they come separate, not welded together like the kooks kit) but other than that it was a breeze

I have the off-road version without cats, but I know some on LR have it with cats and still sounds better than any other setup

The only thing else I did to the exhaust is I sent the headers and pipes out to be Jet Hoat coated to help keep temps down in my engine bay

I'll search and see if I can find a clip with my old motor and 2.3 whipple

I think it is a real PITA to install. I prefer Kooks or Dynatech.

I wanted the full bassani setup but was talked out of it,was told on the headers i would loose boost and the sound was not that aggressive. I went with a 40 series flowmaster and high flow cats and in my opinion ,my truck sound meaner than anything i have heard (lightning wise). Muffler was 250 ss tips 100 used some of my stock pipes and i created my own high flows!!!

And Bassani inserts in the tips that I can remove for loud and track.

It sounds good for street with the inserts in and and loud for the street with them out.

I had kooks w/ custom made midpipes, and dynamax x-something muffler... damn muffler didn't last but a few weeks. Apparently it was only rated to 400hp according to a service rep for dynamax?? Then I got the BIGASS magnaflow x'd one and LOVED IT. It was very mild, had great tone cruising and WOT. It wasn't loud by any means... which let my def ass hear the KB SCREAM!! Oh I had kooks w/ 5" long turndowns on the truck too... WOW TOO LOUD!! I still have the turndowns (one has a O2 bung welded in it too, just bairly long enough to do it too). I was going to run the truck at the track like that, but it ran like poooooooohh w/ them on down low.

That's what've I've always read - no personal experience, though.

My PR setup with the twin 40 Magnaflows is fairly loud, IMO.

Kooks LT's and Magnaflow 15714 Catback.End of story period. This cat back already has the X-pipe built in.Best sounding, best performing exhaust in my opinion.I have it and get more complements on the sound of my truck!! Heres a link http://www.lightningforceperformance.com/magnaflow-catback-exhaust-199904-ford-svt-lightning-p-196.html :tu:Anything else is a waiste of money.Ive tried and sold all the others here.Yaahh im proud of this one,but you can hear it in action http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/24223

No offense against that system but with my 4lb pulley and mostly stock truck i installed this, had my 15714 removed and 2 days later sold the twin magnaflow system(otherwise called Wild System) and reinstalled my 15714 magnaflow. It was like loosing 25H.P. with the twin mags and no X-pipe. :tu:Very noticable difference:burnout:

I removed my Slowmasters and installed the MagnaFlow 14468 (louder) with 12x3.5" stainless slash cut tips, and all I can say is wow! Much deeper & cleaner sound :tu: I also noticed that my rpm's rise much faster now that I have less back pressure from the restrictive Slowmasters :D.

No doubt Tony your truck is bad ass.I am a Magnaflow person all the way.I also have 4inchX24in long chrome plated stainless tips on mine.I dont know if Magnaflow fixed the alignment problem with the tips on the 15714.I installed mine about 4 years ago.The only problem with the fit was the angle of the slash and the looks @ the side of the truck, not bad but i was paticular with mine.Heres a dyno on the 15714 http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/dynos/15714.jpg Basically a wide open system with a nice internal X-pipe.Whatever you use install an X-pipe.:tu:

I was going to go 4" tips but it was going to be a bitch to work it around my Metco lowers. But I'm really happy with this setup. BTW, how long before they burn in, just had them installed this week.

Tony,i dont know about burn in,but mine seemed the same, maybe louder after a year??.Theres not much packing in there. Some kind of glass or ? under a stainless mesh .I was impressed when i pulled mine out of the box and looked inside.Mine might have gotten a bit louder from the Mag. high flow cats blowin out or burning in.:tu:

The Magnaflow catback is crap in the fact the tips don't line up for anything. I like the large magnaflow dual in out mufflers. I think it was the 14568 with the 5x11 body. I ran on the LT's. They burn out every couple years but have a lifetime warranty. No cats puts a lot of heat into any muffler. I use to turn mine brown and rusty under hard use.

I bought the one you told me would be loudest Terry, the dual in dual out 14468 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=mpe-14468 . Then I just took it to my local muffler shop and had them fab it all up for me with the new tips.
