Hey guys. I'm looking for a 2 psi lower pulley for my dad's '99 Lightning(preferrably the non-caged pulley). He currently has a 4 psi lower(came on the truck), and the cavitation noises of the blower at idle speeds drive him crazy. The truck only has 13K on it, so the blower bearings and such should have minimal wear, me thinks. I'm hoping slapping a smaller lower pulley on the truck will eliminate the cavitation. Anyway, if anyone has one, let me know whatcha want for it.
Thanks,
Rob

a 2# will make the same noise I am pretty sure. I think they are also hard to find new.
Most lowers are universal these days and only require a drop in bushing ring for 99-00 trucks.
Tell him a KB will get rid of the noise:D

an idle adjustment might also fix the issue

That was the first thing I told him!:icon_wink: No dice though...I don't remember my truck doing it until we put the 4# on her, so I was thinking a 2# might quiet it down some. The belt is also pretty old(about 8 years), so we're gonna try replacing it, as well as checking the idle adjustment while we're at it. If all else fails we'll just send the blower to steigemeier and have them "clearance" the ole case there.:d

I have never seen porting quiet it. A 2# may help. Most tuners raise the idle from 688 to 788 rpm. Idle is set by the computer you have to flash to change it.

Oh OK. I was thinking there was an idle screw on the T-body. It's been a while.:o

there is a screw but the PCM will open and Idle Air Control motor until it reaches its setpoint.
