View Full Version : Rowlett Red Light Ticket - Should I fight it???

So in the mail I receive a ticket for running a red light in Rowlett. The camera was located at Hickox and Rowlett Rd. The catch is that I did not run the red light.

The ticket shows two photos....one of me stopped at the red light, and one of me turning right at the red light (legal at this intersection).

I want to fight it because it pisses me off that I received a bogus ticket, but I am wondering if I can win the battle? If I try to fight, does Rowlett just say they have evidence that I "rolled" the light, even though the photo shows me stopped?

Anyone dealt with this before? What are my odds?

does it give you an url to go online to see video? I have seen video online from those cameras at that intersection before. that might show if rolling or stopped.

I've been told by TX DPS that it's right-turn on red after a complete stop if there isn't a sign stating otherwise.

If I'm not mistaken, you can defend yourself without an atty in TX. traffic court.

Pay it. $75.00 no points. You will spend more than that fighting it even if you win and when you lose you will be out your time plus the fine and points

RED LIGHT CAMERAS ARE A HOSE JOB TO ALL OF US BUT UNTIL CLEARER HEADS PREVAIL PAY THE TROLL AND WALK AWAY

So there was video... I could argue that I stopped, but with no turn signal used....I would be screwed either way.

Ticket paid, and tail between my legs....

So. The ticket was for running a red light, not failure to signal.

Funny coincidence...I just paid one from December 31st for the same darned thing. Right on red, Only in my video, I didn't even slow down. Much less stop...LOL. Just after I made the light a huge rush of cars came up behind me...guess i was beating them sons of bitches through the light. Fricking cameras!!!! I would love to drive around with F**K You written on my license plate as I run through camera intersections.
