Most may know this already but I havent read any updated threads on here for the 305/45/18 Mickey Thompson drag radials.

Did some searching and it looks like these are finally being sold(new to me anyways) and I bet they would make for some great street/stip tires, and I know they will dominate the 555r's

So someone needs to be the ginney pig and try these out, there only $294ea. :D

Isnt Dennis running 345 or 355's? or even larger? I only get about 8k miles out of my 555R's, so less meat wouldnt be good for me at the price that is quoted..

Yep, I met a guy with some on his Turbo GTO, they were brand new and looked like they already had 5000 miles on them. No tread depth at all.

just like the 555R value is not what you are seeking. Imagine hooking up that 500HP on the street no price for that kind of enjoyment

I get about 3500-5000 out of a set f 555R's but I enjoy the traction

I have read 1.5 and better 60' on the track, wont find that for the 555r's:D

I had the 555r's on my old L, and I was only at 500hp and on the street 1st gear and most of second was still usless.....

They've been out and available for months, few guys on LR have them, they love them except the life span, but I was only seeing 1,000-3,000 miles out of a set of NT555rs

hmmmm, i was planning on buying some 555 DR this coming monday...yall think I should look into these MT's instead? When I get my tunes in a couple weeks, i'm hoping to see 380-400hp and I know im going to need some more grip on the street. Right now im Running Toyo Proxie ST II's on the back and they suck assss.

At those horsepower levels I would go with the DR's.. the MT's are for the extreme engines, IMHO..also, with either one, you wont have a set on there too long anyway, given the treadlife on each..

+1

The Mt's given there super soft compound I can see 3k miles tops, they will hook like no ones business though:d

The nittos will last 5 to 10k depending upon how there are driven but are probally perfect for a 400hp truck, if you were in the 500hp range I would recommend the Mt's

I run the Nitto 555's 295/45/18 in the front, and 555r's 305/45/18 in the rear. At my power 1st and second are pretty much useless on the street lol. Got a built long block coming in this Thursday and will def need the MT for the street then :burnout:

Unless you go the same route as Dennis.. get new wheels, different diameter, have them widened and then buy HUGELY WIDE tires then...

Dana I have been thinking about going this route.

I have been thinking about going this route.

Dennis went with 17" wheels.. but I would make sure whatever wheel you go with, if its modular, its easier to mod them (or so I have heard) and make sure what tire you want so that you can make sure of the size you want as well.. good luck and keep me abreast of what you decide to do..
