So last night I was at San Antonio Raceway getting disappointed in my truck pass after pass and I kept noticing how I was running around 77-80 degrees for the IATs and that was with meth spraying. I think thats pretty hot on my rear mount. The temp was about high 70s when the sun went down with a slight moist breeze.

I was just curious as to when Lightnings start to lose power, or at what temperature does heat really start to affect the power? It's frustrating to watch my IATs climb to high 80s, 90s after a pass and ive even got a damn rear mount, so I can't imagine what yous guys are running with just a pulley swap.

thats cool compared to ours:tu:

Most will run 120-130* after the intercooler(our IAT2 temps) and depending on boost/blower could see 140*+ temps all @ WOT

I would throw a fit if I saw those temps. What kinda of times/mph do you notice that you lose when it really starts to get hot?

It all depends on the setup. Kennebell vs Whipple vs Factory Eaton(heaton)

Pulley combos and boost

They obviously get generate more heat the farther down the track you get but we have ways of battling the heat. Ice resivours, killer chiller, meth, nitrous:D, bigger heat exchangers ect. Maybe some will chime in with there setups and IAT temps.

How long are cool down times after a run with a stock blower with a different pulley?

30 minutes give or take depending on outside temps

I hope it doesnt get too hot at Ennis. This damn small tranmission cooler ive got isnt cooling this thing down fast enough with the new converter I put in this weekend.

Luckily the sun will go down a couple of hours after it starts and it will help cool things off

Is it usually pretty humid out there?

This is Texas, there isnt any consistency that can be counted on when it comes to the weather. It could be snowing when we show up:rll:
