I kind of miss my '92 F-150 4x4 after seeing this post. Bought brand-new, college-truck, I-6, std-trans.
Good truck. Went to CO. in it a number of times. Took it to the top of Pikes Pk./Independence Pass and all over CO/NM.

how funny the old Nissan's were actually quite capable and really had a lot of the things stock that now would be aftermarket upgrades

Awesome! My 85' was my first truck. It never got stuck and I did some unsane stuff:tu:

That truck and I embarrassed some much bigger more expensive trucks at a "bog and grog " in the 80s
It was very capable within the limits of the suspension
The mug terrain TAs made a big difference. My buddies back then had serious jeeps and were happy to have me tag along cause the winch could get them out of trouble

They were pretty capable trucks, sorta' like the first gen Toyotas. Doug, are those the OEM mirrors? Did Nissan use the same mirrors FoMoCo did?

Yeah, I miss my old 99 F-150 4X4..... Hell, I miss most of the car & trucks that I've traded in or sold over the years. I guess that's why I'm convinced that I should never get rid of the L. I'd really miss it.

I understand that the lighter the 4x4, the better they do in mud. They don't sink as far down as the the 1/2 tons and up.
