RICHARDSON: MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING AUTO PARTS
(RICHARDSON, January 30) -- Representatives from the Ford Motor Company are expected to be in Richardson Thursday to investigate after a man allegedly stole some auto parts and posed as a charity worker. Police say Charles Gary Griffith posed as a Ford Motor Company executive and solicited companies for auto parts. He claimed they would be used by troubled teenagers in the Dallas County juvenile system. Police say he used the parts to rebuild two of his own cars. Police say Griffith used computers and copy machines to create Ford letterhead from a recall notice he once received. Police say Griffith may have stolen as much as $100,000 in auto parts from dozens of dealerships
