Well Its no Lightning but Im back in a Ford again. After I sold the Lightning ive been farting around in a cramped 03 Acura Rsx. Ive needed/wanted another truck since I take alot of road trips and wanted something to tow my project truck to shows that are out of state.
So here she is 09 F150 Crew cab

And the project truck. Its a 99 chevy s10 Body droped, full air ride set up, one off tubular control arms, 3 link rear set up with two rear bars for the lift bars that the bags are mounted to for a smoother ride and more lift
Have more pics if anyone cares

Very good, Mike! What size engine in the '09 F-150? If it's the new 5.4 3-valve head, I understand it's good for towing up to 11,900 lbs.

I test towed with one today also. I am thinking about stepping down to an F150. I don't want to but the F250 is about to lose warranty and I know better than to keep it out of warranty...
This one is razor red but I think I will get a deep blue and maybe a 6.5ft bed.

i got the 4.6, its enough for me.. Ive used moms 4.6 03 f150 few times to tow the project truck and it did just fine. I dont plan on towing much of anything but my truck so it will do.

Heres a few pics of the Project
Here it shows how low it its compared to a stock 03 f150 Top of my cab is below the side mirrors of the f150
No front end, first time I pulled it out of the garage under its own power.

Few more of the bed..
I have a cover that im working on that goes over the fuel cell, Its held on by quarter turn pop locks that are flush mounted with a flush mounted gas door.

It had the integrated brake controller and tow pkg. I will move the trailer around town but does not like highway speeds. I triggered the sway stability program twice in an eight mile test pull down 35. It did a great job of straightening the rig out. Even with the 5.4 and 6spd auto it has no balls on the freeway.

Cool, seems like it will tow my little truck decently. Since your trailer probly weighs more than my truck alone lol

Given that this test was with a bumper-pull trailer, I wonder how this same F-150 would fare with a fifth-wheel/goose-neck trailer.
So, this truck bogged down on acceleration from a stand-still and at speed? Any weight in the trailer to really test HP/TQ and stability?

The trailer was about 7k lbs which is over gross max for this truck. It has very little power over 45mph and was unstable on the highway. The sway stability caught the truck from jacking twice.

Towed with the new rig for the first time. Towed my buddies bagged and body dropped blazer to a show in tyler last weekend. the 4.6 3 valve handled it nicely! Did 70-80 the whole way with out a problem. I could barely tell the trailer was back there it rode so damn smooth.
The trailer sway is a nice option and only triggered it once when it was raining, It would of been a better pull if I had trailer brakes hooked up, but Keeping distance between other vehicle and it stopped pretty well. Im going to go pick up the factory indash brake control as the harness and all is already there.
