I'm liking the whole SVT Baja 4x4 approach - Zane and I like Monster-Trucks, too. :) More so for the Son... but, it's all good. That's his thing.

I'd like to see the Gen III L reach fruition, eventually, too.

They are supposed to option a 6.2L 500hp Boss motor this fall. From what I drove the 5.4 is a gutless wonder...

Coyote platform??? I think. We will see, they have been blowing smoke up our Arse for a few years.

Dear SVT,

Quit peeing on my back and telling me it's raining and make something with a set of nuts. You have your competition on the ropes. Stick the hose in their mouth and drowned somebody already.

Regards,

Bashful Buyer:D

My friend saw a Raptor on the street and said he had to get one for his kid. What should I tell him? :nono: :tu:

Tell him if he will actually take it off roading to go for it. Havent seen a bad review yet in that regard.

If it will see 100% street duty though, forget it.

I disagree it has little or no off road prowess. It has a limited desert or Baja style ability which is at best questionable.

Let's not confuse that with being a 4X4 capable of off road trail or rock duty

PS. Still a POS IMHO sorry for sugar coating it.

I'm with John... C(raptor). Now, if it had the blown 5.4 DOHC motor, or this new 6.0L 500HP version Terry describes... ok, at least it has some guts to it.

But I just do not understand the infatuation with a pre-runner type vehicle. Then again, 99% of the population think I'm nuts about high-performance vehicles, too.

The point is... I won't be buying one.

On another note...less than a month til my son gets his permit. The '04 L is out of storage, and back home.

It is so hard to put that kind of truck to work around here. Now if you lived in the Southwest region near desert or public lands that would be another story. With 35" tires, a rear locker and 4 lo range I bet it would make some pretty decent ruts in mud. It was intended to pre run however... The engine as it sets is a lame duck. I had a new 6spd auto 3 vlave 5.4L FX4 for a while and it wouldn't beat a focus.

Huh? The Focus has way more HP per ton than an FX4.

that's not your truck is it? If so, either 1) that is some trick photography with the wheels or 2) you had the wheels widened. What I sold you were some sweet wheels, but they didn't look like that.

Anyway, I know they look killer on your truck. The L looks rather plain with the stockers now, but there is no way I'd let a 16yr old drive around on a set of HRE's. Curbing a stocker is not a big deal. Let's hope for no curbs, but it happens.
