Well the L has passes the 100K marker. I think its time for 4 new rotors. Just curious where you guys have or would purchase from. Was thinking of these? http://www.lightningforceperformance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=897&zenid=b322b4b4712b2a5065dc3e386c21fb85

Ive never changed the rear pads, only the front. My brakes have went way south over the last 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance!

I have only bought EBC rotors, so cant speak to anything else, except the EBC's work, having said that, I have seen many posts that say its not so much the rotors as it is the pads.. I have used EBC pads and am now running another brand and they dont bite the way EBC rotors do. I will say that EBC rotors will wear your rotors faster but they really really stop me better than anything else I have ever had, period.. I was the first in Talon to get these EBC rotors and pads years ago and have made many a convert.. in my book, the only upgrade to these are Brembo's.
Hopefully, others will post up their own experiences as well.

I think the rotor pros sell them for 200 or 250 a set of 4. Just stay away from any drilled rotor, slotted or dimpled is okay I prefer slotted. You can get the Hawks truck and SUV pads, or the AutoZone Duralast golds. I have been running the dot 4 super duty fluid from Oriellys. It has good temp ratings.

Ed, I just went out on the net and did a Google search on them.. I havent gotten them consistently from any one source.. except when I bought stuff from Terry.. I have the Hawk pads now and am not that impressed with them except they dont wear out the rotors.. but I will give up the rotors to have that "throw you through the windshield" stopping power of the EBC's.

EBC rotors got really pricey so I started recommended generics. I think TireRack sells them or Amazon. I think the Porterfield R4S or the current street compound is a good pad it is just dusty.

Dana did you run the Hawk LTS or the HPS compound, etc...

I used the Hawk LTS and also installed stainless steel brake line kit. The braided stainless steel flex lines eliminate the rubber line expansion and make the pads bite harder. With this setup, I have experience good brake response with minimal pad dusting.

I didn't look at your wussy links. Power Slot are fine, just stay away from drilled rotors.

drilled rotors crack

Rotor pros are all 4 for 250 or so, LFP is 220 per pair. Unless a rotor is cast with holes drilled blanks crack as Doug said. If you drive easy they may last or may not. There is no miracle stock rotor, performance is marginal with you make designs on them.

Any opinions on Rotors from O' Reiley's? They have their brand for $48 each and some NASCAR brand for 128 each... ??

No lecture here, but it seems when people ask for opinions, and Terry and other veteran members post their advice and experiences some people then ask for another opinion:confused:. Makes no sense.

Terry put 4 rotor pro rotors and pads on for my truck, they have worked great, shipped real quick to my house and darn affordable if you ask me.

Good Luck!!

They need to know 12mm studs or 14mm studs for the front rotors. Do you have little nuts or big nuts.

Shizz..I use a 21mm socket to kknockem off. A 12mm socket will not go over the threads but a 14mm will. Are the studs measured with or without thread?

The diameter of the studs are either 12mm (.472-in) or 14mm (.55-in). Measure one of them with a pair of calipers. In a pinch you can use a 1/2" hole gauge --- if it slides over easy they are 12mm if it wont go over or goes with really snug fit they are 14-mm.

21mm is 14mm studs. 19mm is 12mm studs.

We have the over 7700 gvwr brake system also called the NASCAR, Expedition brakes. Those are not the standard pad numbers most use the 711 rears and 702 fronts which is the universal back plate designation.

I have a set of EBC green pads in the box in my garage right now.. I have Hawk on the truck now. you change them and you can keep the Hawks for free.. they only have a few thousand miles on them..
