What an absolute waste! What really gets me, is so many of the vehicles traded in as, "Clunkers" are worth more than the clunker program offered.:icon_rolleyes:

A guy at work said this is the govt's way of getting rid of all the affordable cars so we are forced to finance more expensive cars...

This just pisses me off to no end. I'll have two teenagers driving in the next year and this must have an impact the used car market. Sure they'll still be cars available but at what cost.
Seems to me it will take a lot of the 2k to 4k cars out the used market which are perfect vehicles for 1st time drivers/owners.

Well I started watching and just couldnt make it to the end! Just hate to see a decent car fry its motor on purpose.
Today is the last day of "Bail out GM and other car companies" or cash for clunkers so not many more will be sacrificed.
You watch sales are going to dry up tight now that Congress is finished with the give away.
That vette looked to be a 1984 or the wheels were from a 1984 anyway surely it was worth more than 4,500.

That wouldn't surprise me a bit with this current administration.:hammer:

Next time they'll get bored with that technique and they'll run it at 6k rpm, the block will split and the flywheel will go "somewhere"....
That looks to be a mid-80s vintage Vette... its an old TPI motor, not an LT1.
This cash for clunkers is just like the $8k first-time-homebuyer credit. It's a quick way to get some money changing hands and people doing business. If the rest of the economy (job creation through the private sector primarily) doesn't catch up, then this is all just a flash in the pan.

Yeah ill get out there...just been busy with work but more the kids than anything...getting older(the kids that is,not me of course:icon_rolleyes:)
Obama at his finest.....feed the poor:flaming::flaming:Not only that... the government cash for clunkers is taxable income to those getting it. So the $4,500 they thought they got is only $3,600 to $4,000 depending on tax bracket. How's that for slight of hand.
