And are you now convinced about his plan for health care reform? or is it health insurance reform?
Dana
Actually I think anything they pass that has a "public option" will be unconstitutional. The federal government does not have the constitutional right to force anyone to buy health insurance. That being said, our social engineering supreme court will probably rule otherwise.:(
I guess the idea of people being responsible for their choices in life is just about dead. As I voted in the fear pole, I fear our government:tex

I'm with Bob.
I still can't believe there are that many morons in the US voting population that have voted in the leftist, socialist group we have now. I know the conservative right doesn't have all the answers, but my goodness.
Rep. Wilson from SC was right last night... Obama is a liar. Plain and simple.

He may have been right, but that was not the time or place.
The interesting thing is that by saying what he did, where he did, as a Col. in the Army Reserve, he qualifies for an Article 88 court martial under UCMJ!

Maybe not the "time or place", but the fact is being "politically correct" for the last XX # of years is what has gotten us into this mess in the first place.
The left has spoken, and they are falling on their faces. Obama campaigned on "change"... we already need another change 8 months into this debacle.

How can you tell if a politician is lying?
Just watch for lip movement:rll:
I read that they were saying that most of the uninsured are young, healthy people and the old, sick people already have health insurance so it won't cost us too much. This almost sounds plausible, until you watch the ads saying that Americans are dying by the bazillions because of lack of insurance. Which is it?
I think a very limited healthcare plan or "stop loss coverage" to help people with catastrophic illness might be worthwhile. For example if you get cancer and don't have full insurance, it would destroy your family's finances and possibly result in poor care and an early death. The stop loss plan could kick in at a certain dollar amount that could be fixed or based on the family's resources. I'd even be up for 1 preventive/wellness visit per year for each person for a $30 copay. I am against free insurance and no deductibles that people abuse and clog the system.
I'm all for helping poorer people survive or avoid disease but we should all have to sacrifice and put in our fair share. Even the poor have discretionary income, drive through a poor area and you'll see people with beer
(mmmm beer:beer:) , buying cigarettes, pumping kids out, parking a mercedes in the carport of their trailer and so forth. Human nature seems to value those things more than surviving for some reason.

I watched Obama lie his ass off for 45 minutes. I loved it when the Congressman heckled "You lie!" as Pelosi's face hit the ground!:rll:
