A new Audi EV makes 3,319 pound-feet of torque

Audi confirmed the worst-kept secret at the Frankfurt auto show when it unveiled the e-Tron, an electric concept car with four motors, grin-inducing acceleration and torque like an Abrams tank.
To say the e-Tron car is insane is like saying Kayne West has no class. The German automaker set out to prove electric cars can rival the best sports cars, so it gave the all-wheel-drive two-seater 230 kilowatts (313 horsepower) and a staggering 3,319 pound-feet of torque.

I think they add the torque of each motor to get that total. I think it is misleading. The most torque going to any one wheel is 25% of that...

hmmm.. that's still 830 lb-ft of torque going to each wheel. :eek2:

Why wouldnt that count ? Since each motor drives a wheel ?
if you had a 4 drum dyno measuring all 4 wheels you would get input from all 4 right ??

Pretty neat but only moderately fast considering the weight to torque ratio. I think it's great that they are starting to come out with more performance oriented EV prototypes though, at least we won't all be stuck driving GEM cars!
