I am officially bummed out. It was appropriate that a real slow drizzle started as we loaded the truck. It was the heavens crying over what I had just done.:(

Time to toss the diesel, trailer and go get a C6, Z06 and half ton pickup to bounce around in... These are tough times it is hard to maintain the same toys we had 8 years ago. I know I have scaled back my fun budget. I am just trying to be financially responsible and have fun in a recession.

I sold my diesel, trailer and got back into working dogs. With a new dog and SUV to carry him. I wanted a Suburban but settled on an Explorer and money in the bank. It was the right decision for me in this economy.

I had 40 grand in stuff I only used 2-3 times a year. Most of the time I just watched it all depreciate. So I decided to cash out and invest in stuff I get more use out of. My ATV may be next since I only make 1-2 trips with it in a years time.:beer::beer:

Rocks, she was the best of the best out there.. you didnt scrimp or have any shortcuts.. I didnt know you were selling all the extras with it too.. I could have used those slicks and skinny's:flaming:

Well, now to start thinking of what is next for you.. I am keeping mine until I have something that I wont mind giving up for it (think GTR, Ferrari, Aston Martin)...

random but can i ask where you got your wheels done and how much?

this is what keeps me from selling or trading mine on a vette.

i love this truck and worked hard while im still full time college, part time work, to afford this my truck.. i love it and im just not sure i can EVER get rid of it.

i understand where youre coming from though.

Yeah...It does suck. I was thinking I wouldn't miss having the Lightning, since it just set in the garage for so long. Now I have a big hole in the garage that makes me crazy. Big mistake...and that is not said in jest.

It's been 5 1/2 years since I let mine go, and I still miss her to this day. There's definitely something special about the Gen 2 L's. Five years, 3 kids, and a recession after they've ceased production; when I see a clean, smartly modded Gen 2 Lightning rolling; they still look badass. I marvel at how well the look and lines of the trucks have aged. My Dad called me today, laughing his a$$ off, after he'd just filled the interior of a new Camaro SS driver's left eardrum full of p!ssed off 5.4 supercharged liters of Bassani exhaust.:D I feel your pain my friend, just hang in there. It'll take some time, but it will get better.:burnout:

Uncle Rocks! What have you done? If it makes you feel any better, I start mine several times a month and drive it to the Parent's mail-box where it's in storage. Dropped insurance on it, too.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all the words of consolation. BAD ROB just appeared out of nowhere...and with THREE kids...HOLY SHIOT!!!!! LOL. Sounds like your happy Rob...very cool man...very cool.

I would have responded more and/or sooner but I just brought my daughter home from the hospital...she went in Saturday night for a problem she has not had for ten years. She had a fight with Optical Neuritis when she was 14 that took her vision in the right eye. At nineteen it hit her in the left eye and we got it treated quick enough to keep from losing the vision in the left eye. Now, ten years later and two weeks before her wedding...it shows up again. I truly believe this may be a stress related issue but the Dr.'s won't say for sure and don't know. No signs of MS so WTF??? It looks like we escaped another bullet and her left eye is starting to work again. Her wedding is still scheduled for the weekend after next, so she is staying at my house for a few days so I can help her recover.

It is amazing how quick one can quit giving a shit about a truck. ;) My perspective is suddenly right again.

Sorry to see it leave Tx Rocks.....I actually considered buying it and moving some parts around and then getting rid of mine. You did a great job on that truck and it showed you cared about it.

Best of luck to you and yours, I hope your daughter gets well soon.

I wish you would have done that. The situation would have been easier to take if someone local had bought it. That guy just got one hell of a truck.

My daughter is doing much better. The vision has come back at this point. Now I just have to teach her to control that temper she inherited from her dad. I believe stress is causing some of the problem.

Thanks for the well wishes wes.

You letting her marry the wrestler? I guess she got him whipped into to shape, lol:beer:.

I'll never forget the great times we had racing and working on trucks Dirty Ron:beer::tu:

Yeah...she dated him for three years. I guess he earned it. They actually make a good match. She is a nuts like her dad and he is as laid back as a person can get and still have a heartbeat. He retired from the wrestling thing a couple years ago and started doing the MMA thing for a few months. Then he decided at 32 years old that he might better find something better to do before he ended up crippled and broke. LOL...he works for me now. :evil

We did have some fun with that truck. I am going to miss it even though I knew it was time to move on.

Rocks... when were you going to tell us that you had to sell your truck after losing your sponsor after this race?:d

*note* probably not a good idea to blast the sound at the office on this one..

If anybody wants to know what the result of the race was, you'll have to ask Rocks. I couldn't get the unedited version.
