Spent the weekend at Barnwell Mtn. in East Texas camping and wheeling. Spent about an hour pressure washing and it really is still not clean. Oh well had a lot of fun.

It's ok Dana two men can share a bed. However there are rules:

Hole to Hole :tu:
Pole to Pole:tu:
Never pole to Hole:nono:

James missed this trip he was working. I met up with some other Rover guys and gals.

I always take my Kel Tec I can throw it harder saves ammo:D

Looks like fun.....the wheeling, that is, not the spooning. :nono:

What kind of tires are those on your Rover? I had to buy a new set of tires for my truck yesterday after cutting a sidewall while hunting this weekend, and as usual, struggled with the on road/off road bias since it's a DD. I ended up going with the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor.

BFG KM2 I really like them. This truck does not get driven on the road day to day. I do have them on our JK Rubicon in a 33" and they are very quiet on the road. We will see how long they last being driven on the road

Very tough tire I have punished them over the last 9 months in several different terrains

I tried a set of the BFG AT K/O's and instantly lost 3 MPG. I couldn't live with that, so I took advantage of Discount Tire's 30 day satisfaction guarantee and switched to the Michelin LTX AT II's. The Michelin's were biased more towards the street, but worked OK off road until I cut the sidewall. Since I'd gotten 52k miles out of them, on a 60k mile treadwear warranty, I just took the credit on the cut tire and used it towards the Goodyears. I'd really like to put a MT tire on here, but not as long as this is a DD.

The Toyo Open County M/T is a very hard, long wearing tough tire. We have regular BFG M/T's on dad and brother's Z71's. I prefer to sipe the center lugs for any wet grip, stock mud tires are scary in the rain. They go 40-60k road life. They grab like soccer cleats in the mud though. I could shower down on my Tahoe and easily leave 8-10 inch trenches in any sod or dirt. I have had a lot of A/T tires and they all pack up quickly and get slick. Might as well stay with a street tire with lots of biting edges instead...

I have a personal grudge against Goodyear...
The BFG MT are the best mud tire ever, very quiet when new.
I liked my Nitto's on the Lightning and F250.
Hankook has a neat mud tire that is not so agressive, I would sipe the center lugs.
I did not like the Perelli Scorpions or BFG AT's (worst AT ever).

I really like the style of this RT03, other than the sidewall.

Sidewall on the KM is almost bullet proof. Probably the reason for the bad MPG.

Off Topic Rant: Really West Point. If body language is any indicator he better use the back door....

Update - The Goodyears cost me 2 MPG, and you could feel the tread blocks squirming if you pushed them the least bit in corners so it's going back tomorow for another set of the Michelins. Those appear to be the best compromise at present.

I spent a pocket full of quaters washing the brake fluid off all 4 of my tires from Ford Country of lewisville's brake service.I didnt realize 209 buck brake service per axle didnt include brake fluid flush/change.They called me and said it was ready, and reccommended brake fluid flush. So i agreed and after the fact somehow brake fluid was dushed all over all 4 tires that are brand new:hammer:They offered to make good by cleaning the tires, but i was disgusted. The only reason i took it in was the recall on the cruise control and decided to get brakes done while it was there.I also had them change the fuel filter, and wow does the truck run good.I changed it 20K miles ago. What a difference. All was good except the fluid on the inside of my tires.I would like to pour fluid all over the mechanics cars tires to make it right.
