My buddy that is a COP in Dalworthing Gardens ( Arlington guys should know where that is) called me yesterday morning. I took my new truck over to the station, so he and the chief could take it for a spin. They are seriously considering getting a Lightning for a patrol truck. They already have an Expedition(white unmarked), and a Crown Vic (blue unmarked) plus BMW bikes etc. A few square miles, lots of tickets, few employees = lot of revenue for toys! That would be bad a$$, wait..... maybe not. Feel sorry for any rice running through!

Waist of taxpayers money......with the budget deficits of America...including most if not all cities...this is absolutely rediculous....let the gear head cops buy there own dang vehicles...and park them in their garage. They can drive HD Police Duty Crown Vics....you can't outrun a radio regardless...

madmax, you must not know about Dalworthing Gardens. They have so much money from issuing tickets, they can definitely afford one. you have to know the area.

They won't like it. The seats are incedibly uncomfortable when you have a Sam Browne (duty belt) on. Within about 20 minutes the side bolsters makes your legs go numb.

And BTW, can't comment on DWG specifically, but in most cities the revenue from ticket fines is less than 4% of the total revenue.

So would ordering one with stock F150 seats be better? That would be a cool pursuit vehicle. I guess they can use any vehicle they want? I thought it had to pass several stringent tests for duty?

I bet DWG's revenue is on the high side with all their vehicles and for such a small muncipality.

Yeah there are a few cities around with the bling yo! Southlake has a fleet of Tahoe's with high dollar Ka radar, IR video, and more K-9s than the city of Dallas etc..

As for the seats, that's sacreligious to even suggest. I'm disappointed that anyone who calls himself a L. tuner would even suggest such a desecration. :throw:

As for passing tests, that's done by the manufacturers when they offer something certified as "pursuit capable". FoMoCo does not do any such testing on the L.'s. Doesn't mean you can't use something uncertified, just that you've done so without the manufacturer's statement that it is capable. ;) Sorta' like the SO in Ga. that used Impala SS's for squad cars a few years back.

Moonshine, Your right about those seats. Actually I hate to say it....but the SVT Focus seats are much more comfortable that the L's. Now about the loss of power :crying:
