new virus today

Seems there is a high incidence of virus infection today - May be isolated to the PCs I work on but there was quite a jump of infected machines

Not many details on the infection other than its near impossible to clean with currently available tools

So general warning - be careful

too many symptoms and variants to list

mostly the fake antivirus, but there are 3 or 4 different variants and its not getting caught by any of about 6 scanners and its shutting down USB ports, internet access, cant install apps to clean the virus, Mcafee is being disabled.

Its one of the more difficult infections we've seen

We threw in the towel today and stopped attempting to scan and clean

format and reiimage is the current fix

2 users admitted getting infected while reading indian news websites

The guy who manages ( barely) the Antivirus systems says the ones he looked at were NOT the Google related exploits ... But who knows
