I can't believe no one has posted anything about the snowstorm, or any pics. Makes me wonder if you're all without power. I had to work the last two days, so it pretty much sucked, but it was way better than some of the ice storms I've worked through. The major streets were never an issue, but the neighborhood streets got pretty snow clogged. I never got stuck in the Tahoe, but came close a couple of times. And that was without chains, as the City doesn't have any chains for the Tahoes. We did get some of the Crown Vics stuck, even with chains on them. And we broke a bunch of chains from the mix of clear pavement to deep snow. We got a measured 12" at the station and lost power for a good bit of Thursday night.
Not sure how much I got at the casa, but as of this AM I still have over 7" on the ground. Just came in from flinging the ATV across the pasture, so now I'm enjoying the snow a bit. And I never lost power here, so I'm grateful for that. :tu:

Only saw about 7 or 8 inches here and it was so wet that it didn't build up like in other areas
DIdnt lose power but did head out at midnight Thursday to find the source of the big flashes and the noises - it was probably a limb shorting a power line but I never found it - it wasn't regular enough to locate and the Carrollton PD ran me off when I pulled over in a parking lot to wait for the next flash...
He and I were about the only ones out...
The Lexus did pretty well in the snow - it was 3 or 4 inches deep on the street and while I did slide a little the traction control did a decent job of keeping me moving ...
here are the streets the next day

The driveway and the neighborhood were the worst I encountered, except driving home the night before.. but the major streets were good yesterday. We prob got around 4-5" overall.. We lost power the night before at 11p and got it back around noonish the next day. It wasnt too bad for us.. Hope everyone else is ok... Since I have just moved back from Erie, Pa, well, it wasnt all that spectacular for us.. been there and done that multiples times there..

We got about 12" of real wet snow here in So. Arlington. My driveway is @ a pretty good angle, so I had to shovel it to get in & out of the garage. I couldn't get enough traction in the Focus, or the Lightning to get out of the neighborhood on Fri morning. I wound up getting the L out to pull the out Focus, after I got high centered on snow trying to go to work. (1 block from the house.) I just called it quits after that & stayed home to play with the kids... Made a great snowman, snowfort & had a helluva snowball fight with the wife. (I'm glad that she is fun like that!)

got 12" here at the golf course (that's the most snow i've seen since i moved from colorado). more snow than the chihuahua is tall. had to keep an area clear in the back yard for her to do her business. the vettes parked in a building at work. couldn't drive it home thrusday night. eight inches of snow at the end of the work day was too much to try to plow through. didn't lose power thanks to the city keeping the trees trimmed (butchered actually) outside the compound. stayin' warmer? :tu:

I measured 9.5 inches in SW Arlington by the lake. My Live Oak in the front lost a few limbs but I never lost power.
I like the shot of the basketball goal full of snow-fitting for NBA Allstar weekend

We lost power for a few hours but not a big deal. Our bassett does not like the snow. Cold on her belly or because she can't see over it??? I'm not sure which but she didn't want any part of it.

You have it all wrong, it is just an older silver back, but I will report Sixer to the SPCA for animal abuse by leaving a GoRila out in the weather.

I gave up bow hunting, using a ar-10,ar-15.Hoping to get them all:DThey have been causing a bunch of damage on friends property.Several neighbors are after them, but the pigs are nocturnal which is why they are still around. Some are huge,i saw some big tracks.Areas of the property damage looked like someone was practicing with a back-hoe:icon_eek:I figure a large group of them from the tracks. We tried traps, and they are 2 smart for em.We have some other tactics 2 try for next time:d

Yup. 5.56 will kill a pig, but it doesn't drop them on the spot without a CNS hit. Interesting the way they were able to get the laser or red dot sight on camera for part of it. That does look like it'd be a hoot, but you'd really have to trust the pilot.

dozens of them dropped like a stone .. I was just assuming it was either some really odd 556 round or something larger ...

Well, in the few shots where part of the rifle is visible it looks like an AR buttstock, but it could be a 7.62x39 AR. Not real common, but not rare either, and it'd roll the piggies with more authority than a .223.
