View Full Version : driver side window won't go down

I removed the door panel to replace factory speakers. The driver side window no longer operates. I have removed the panel to make sure the connector is plugged in. I also remove the controls seperate from the panel and plugged back in, to check operation.
I can hear a clicking noise when trying to roll down but nothing is happening. There appears to be a "relay" (#4) in the fuse box that controls "one touch down window operation".
Could the relay be bad?
Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

Could something be blocking the window track from going down? You have to watch all that stuff when you put it back together...

I think I've narrowed down to the switch. Wonder what this jewel will cost:confused:

It's $98 for the switch and $180 for the wiring harness and I'm not sure which one is the problem yet:flaming:
Pretty expensive f-up for just replacing the factory speakers with some nice 5x7's I had laying around

Just use the pass side switch to test ... I think they are the same
or borrow one of ours....

FYI The pass. side is a different size plug/switch.
Jeff (Alpine) came over and and we tried his switch and it worked fine.
Thanks Jeff!

I'm off to the junk yard to find a switch because there is no way I'm paying $98 for new one.

After hitting several different junk yards this morning I can't find what I need. Everyone only wants to sale a door complete or the entire door panel.
I can't afford a new one and only need the toggle piece.
I'm going this route (http://talon.svtlightnings.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1813)
