The slow economy and steady unemployment rate may keep it from going much higher. I am glad to be out of the diesel. Diesel fuel and fuel economy will never be good again...

I do look forward to stealing a nice truck for a second vehicle once the fuel price goes up. Right now people are driving and buying v8's not planning on 3 plus a gallon.

I dunno, the new Super Duty looks to have half decent mileage (for a giant truck).

Besides, Its over $2.50 by my house now. $3 isnt that much higher.

I just bought a gas guzzling truck, but since I traded my gas guzzling car that took premium, hopefully I'll be okay. The car got about 14mpg around town and 20 on the highway. The new truck at least takes regular (or E85 if I want to try it).

Talk about another drain on the economy.. it was the spike in gas prices that triggered the recession..

Thing is, once you take into considertion production costs, shipping costs (parts + finished product), etc... it has been shown that the carbon footprint to drive a Prius for 10 yrs > than driving a Hummer for 10 years.

This entire thing is a complete joke. We have enough oil reserves in the 50 states of the Union to provide what we need for the next 200yrs at current + estimated growth rates. Those who don't believe it, just have another agenda.

The secret agenda is: Use up all of the non-US oil and then ours will be worth giga-billions, and we will still be able to operate our gas guzzlers.:banana:knana:nana2
