I am going to the updated clear headlights and need matching fog lights. The 99/00 are basically old-school Mustang fog lights and will not match the headlights when I am done. Seems to me like the newer Lightning foggers will not work, but I can't remember the details. Any 99/00 guys replaced their fog lights with newer style?

If memory serves the differences were the bracket and the wire connector

I believe this to be correct.
Dennis, where are you sourcing the lights from? also, I am using the Silverstars 9005 bulb in them but I think the wattage is so high that the heat generated is what causes them to fail. I was wondering if you were going to use a lower wattage bulb and where to get them.

Thanks....I figured they would be a Mustang upgrade, but just wasn't sure. I think that light will use the stock 99 Lightning bracket. Like Doug said, I think there was a change in 2001 on the Lightning fog light brackets.

The 01-up fogs snap into the 01-up bumper cover not a metal bracket. They use a standard 9005 pigtail available anywhere.

Those are the same one's I put on mine a couple of years ago.

And I'll be putting them on my brothers soon.

I understand the reason the change but personally I like the look of the non clear one's. I just purchased some of the 93 Cobra style replacements (99 style) at latemodelresto.com I think they were about $30 each.

They had clears, smoke, and yellow as well.
