So how much boost can my stock 04 motor handle with a Kb 2.3 on there.
What is a good pulley combo to have on the street.

Asking for trouble with more than 15# IMO. Of course, you can blow it up with less boost if you don't pay attention to the right things. :D Start with a 4# lower and 3" upper and see where you are on A/F.

Shiny stuff under your truck is usually not a good thing.

What he said, we both had them at about 18psi that day, and I went back to 15 after the shiny stuff on his run. A 6lb lower with a 3.25 upper is what I run on the street.

Thanks guys.
Thats what i was thinking on the boost level to bring it down to like 15.

This is the pulleys i have 3.0 , 3.25 uppers and 4lb , 6lb lower.
Shoud i go 3.25-4lb.
or 3.0-6lb
What do yawl think.

Now i dont really race much only when i have smart as kids saying on thats a slow truck.

Problem i am having now when i am dead stop and try to go i hit it and it bogs down like it it wanted to shout off then it comes back right up. Any help on this I will be cheking all the vacum lines.

KB's need a lot more fuel on tip in to eliminate that bog. How is it tuned? You can't run it on a stock blower tune.

^^^ it has a tune for the Kb i am using a sct x3 tuner.

Good think you came in here Terry you tune my truck about 1year ago i will like to get this thing tune by you again let me know when or if your still tuning.

Ok now back to were wee were at this are the mods on the truck.
Maybe this will help find the problem i am having.

1. Kb 2.3-3.0 upper for now
2. C&L Plenum
3. LFP Single Blade
4. C&L Elbow
5. 2400 Maf
6. 6lb Lower
7. Obx Long tubeH
8. Shift kit
9. 255's pump's
10. 60lb injector's

Mods at home to go on.
1. Dual heat exchanger with Dual Fans
2. After market I/C tank
3. Fuel Presure gauge
4. Wide band

Radiator eletric fan. But dont know when is going on.

Were the current tunes done before or after the BA2400 was installed? Before or after the KB installed?

Good call Dennis. You need to keep the MAF and injectors paired together. The 90 stock maf will meter more air than the injectors will flow.
stock maf stock injectors
2400 maf 60# deka injectors

Who's tune are you running now?
6# lower and 3" upper is too aggressive for stock injectors and a mail tune unless one of the tuning gods did it.

It has been a while since I memorized pulleys and boost. I think most street folks run a 4# lower and 3,25 upper for 13.5psi, 3" at the track for 15 psi.

Or 3.5/3.25 with a 6#
A 6# and 3" should be near 18 psi.
http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/ford-techinfo/Lightning54only/pulleyboostguide.pdf
6# is about 9"

I have a 2.3 KB on my Harley. Terry has a 6# lower the 3.25 upper
60 Pound injectors, mass air, cold air. and a Terry tune.
I have driven it for 1.5 years now and it still runs great but I dont beat it
to often. Good luck

^^^Thanks for the info i will email Terry and see what he can do.
But for now I am going to check evrything again and clean the maf and see what happends.

I run a 4# lower and 3.25 upper and see 14 to 13.5 in good air- similar mods but no long tubes so you should see reduced boost with the same combo.

My last time at the dyno; pre-boom.

http://www.svtgalleries.net/gallery/data/500/medium/Gorila_Dyno_9_20_06.JPG

I think the pulley set up on this run was 4#er and a 3.1" upper w/43# injectors (stock block & heads w/2.3 KB)

not to go off topic here BUT Get a good tune from someone that has done this work before.

Skidmark or crash ( they are a pair in my mind ) are Internet infamous for unbelievable self promotion. Repeatedly claiming that they had built an f150 stx that would crush a lightning in a race and in fact I think they claimed 10s on street tires .. Of course the truck was destroyed in a wreck before anything could be backed up.. But thats just one or 2 examples of the fantasy self promotion they were known for. In summary, I dont believe them..

No shot but stock block with 2400 MAF, 60lb injectors, and new tune, 18 psi.
11.593 @ 119.00 on the scary guardrail tree track with the shut down area being a left turn on an old HW entrance ramp. Won't try that again, but I was trying to run down someone with ~5 second starting advantage, I broke out by <a 10th IIRC.
