I usually use some thin black foam, from Northern Tool, or Harbor Freight.

Go to Oreilly's and get a small can of the Duplicolor bed liner and coat the inside of the box with it. You can spray it or roll it. I covered my F-250 and the inside of my toolbox with it and turned out pretty well.

I use that foam bubble like grid. They sell it custom sized at sears but you can go buy it for half the price at Home Depot. You find it in the counter section with all the other drawer liner materials.

You can buy the same stuff from Wal-Mart cheaper, with the shelf paper & drawer liner.

i ended up scouring the interweb thingy to find this thread...

led to this:

so i had the guy (mtryan33) sell me some custom cut ones for my box which would have been about the same price as the stuff he was already selling on the bay. it can't be any worse than the stuff i picked up at home depot last night and only set me back $35 shipped. probably as close to the snap-on stuff as i'm gonna find in this price range...
